Designs and maintains automated hardware test software for photonic chips across bench-top, wafer, and automated test equipment environments. Responsibilities include developing test methods and flows, controlling instruments, integrating probers and embedded systems, building data pipelines, debugging hardware/software interactions, supporting releases, and collaborating with hardware, characterization, and manufacturing teams. The role also involves test architecture ownership, mentoring engineers, and hands-on laboratory work.

Designs and validates end-to-end electro-optic systems for high-volume photonics products. Responsibilities include system modeling with Cadence, VPI Photonics, and Keysight ADS; co-designing silicon photonic devices; developing high-speed RF experiments; testing optical modulators and receivers; analyzing performance, power, and production requirements; and collaborating with electronics and photonics engineering teams.

Own end-to-end simulation, co-design, and laboratory verification of photonic-electronic links. Develop multi-physics optical and analog models, perform corner, Monte Carlo, and PVT analyses, create link budgets, and correlate simulations with silicon measurements. Partner with photonic and analog circuit teams on architecture, specifications, interface requirements, and corrective design actions. The role requires high-speed optical lab expertise, silicon photonics experience, and proficiency in photonic, mixed-signal, and Python-based simulation workflows.

Lead development of the internal photonics PDK: create Python-based pcells, build and verify compact behavioral models, automate parameter extraction from FDTD/FEM solvers, correlate models with lab measurements, implement CI/regression tests, and own netlist extraction and connectivity logic for circuit-level simulation.

Responsible for timing constraints development, STA and timing closure on CMOS technologies, driving timing sign-off, analyzing power/performance tradeoffs, and running full-chip STA.

Lead implementation of complex digital blocks from synthesis through physical verification on advanced nodes (3nm). Drive timing closure, power and EM/IR analysis, full-chip floorplanning, IO and clock distribution, DRC/LVS cleanup, ECOs, and collaborate with EDA vendors. Automate and customize flows using Tcl/Python/Shell; support tape-out and photonics integration.

The Design Verification Engineer will rigorously verify designs using UVM techniques, collaborating closely with digital and analog design experts, while defining DV methodologies and ensuring quality tapeouts.

The role involves architecting digital circuits for mixed-signal and photonic systems, collaborating with teams to design and validate high-speed architectures, and ensuring product readiness for market.

Define micro-architecture for a photonic communication fabric, propose device designs (modulators, receivers, lasers, amplifiers), provide performance/power/area estimates, collaborate with photonic and analog engineers, and author and validate architectural specifications.

Develop high-speed analog transceiver solutions, design analog/mixed-signal blocks, collaborate across teams, and validate circuit performance in the lab.
