Manages relationships with participating employers and employees for a defined-benefit pension plan. Provides training, presentations, and guidance on plan value, administration, responsibilities, and pension impacts. Monitors regulatory compliance, resolves administrative issues, develops corrective action plans, gathers client feedback, and supports members through individual and regional education sessions. Requires extensive pension experience, regulatory knowledge, French fluency, strong communication skills, and provincial travel.

Supports the full private equity investment lifecycle, including sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, investment memoranda, deal structuring, portfolio monitoring, performance reporting, and follow-on investment analysis. Conducts market and industry research, contributes to investment theses and strategic initiatives, and collaborates with legal, tax, operations, and senior investment professionals.

Performs investment accounting and reporting for the General Ledger, including reconciliations, financial analysis, journal entries, working papers, audits, and investment disclosures. Evaluates complex transactions under Canadian GAAP and IFRS, supports internal controls and policy updates, and recommends process improvements and automation. Collaborates with Investment Operations, Business Process, IT, Risk, and Investment Management teams while serving as a subject matter expert for investment accounting matters.

Leads enterprise investment and executive communications strategy, including Fund positioning, CEO speeches, thought leadership, Board materials, major announcements, and external stakeholder engagement. Partners with investment leaders to translate complex financial topics for external audiences, directs cross-functional teams and agencies, coaches communications professionals, manages vendors and budgets, and upholds quality, reputation, and measurement standards.

Own and evolve HOOPP’s investment data warehouse, pipelines, enterprise data model, and production support processes. Investigate data and platform issues, perform root-cause analysis, maintain data integrity and governance, and deliver sustainable solutions across investment, risk, finance, and technology teams. Develop AI-assisted projects using Python and related tools, improve monitoring and operational workflows, and manage access reviews, releases, documentation, and preventive actions.

Build and operate scalable AWS data foundations supporting analytics, search, and AI use cases. Develop structured and unstructured data pipelines using Snowflake, S3, lakehouse architectures, and distributed processing. Establish engineering standards, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, data quality, lineage, and observability. Collaborate with data scientists, AI engineers, and business partners to productionize ideas, mentor engineers, and deliver secure, reliable, measurable solutions.

Lead instrument risk modelling for derivatives, hedge funds, liabilities and other securities. Build tools, validate models, collaborate with traders, finance and developers, and deliver risk reporting and advanced risk-management approaches.

Supports pension policy and regulatory compliance by maintaining plan policies, procedures, guidelines, and documentation; reviewing communications for technical and legal accuracy; researching pension law and regulatory changes; interpreting plan provisions; assessing risks; supporting plan amendments; and advising internal teams, members, employers, and stakeholders on pension administration matters.

Develop and lead enterprise and investment communications with emphasis on external positioning. Advise the CEO, executives, and spokespeople on speeches, presentations, stakeholder messaging, and high-profile engagements. Translate complex financial and investment topics into compelling content for diverse audiences, including reports, thought leadership, presentations, and briefing materials. Partner with investment and strategy teams, manage communications quality and processes, and use AI tools to improve content, insights, sentiment analysis, and channel effectiveness.

Supports HOOPP’s sustainable investing strategy through sustainability research, quantitative analysis, climate scenario modeling, portfolio stress testing, dashboards, stewardship analysis, and climate data assessment. The role develops actionable investment insights, monitors emerging sustainability practices, evaluates decarbonization plans and investment opportunities, and applies AI-enabled tools and automation to improve research, due diligence, reporting, and portfolio monitoring.
