Supports publicity campaigns for fiction and nonfiction titles by researching media, creating press materials, pitching journalists and reviewers, coordinating author events and bookstore tours, managing review-copy mailings, tracking media coverage, and submitting titles for awards and festivals. The intern works with authors, bookstores, media contacts, and the New York-based publicity team while developing skills in campaign execution and media relations.

Drafts, vets, negotiates, and administers editorial acquisition, audio rights, amendment, termination, and reversion contracts. Supports editorial teams, authors, and agents with contractual, royalty, payment, and rights queries. Maintains title and rights data, manages author estate payments, researches post-reversion sales, and collaborates with Legal, Contracts Administration, and Editorial on process improvements.

Coordinates direct inshipment marketing programs, including direct mail, digital marketing, and alternate media. Supports campaign planning, promotional material development, proofreading, approvals, stakeholder communications, campaign documentation, purchase orders, process improvement, and performance reporting. The role manages multiple deadlines, monitors campaign spending and results, and helps improve operational efficiency across direct-to-consumer marketing initiatives.

Supports trade book marketing operations, including title scheduling, pricing and format reviews, cover and galley tracking, special editions, marketing campaigns, social media content creation, influencer outreach, and distribution of advance reading copies and promotional packages. The internship provides broad exposure to publishing teams and marketing activities.
