Lead threat intelligence activities focused on identifying emerging vulnerabilities and exploitation, driving zero-day alerts, creating detection rules and technology fingerprints, maintaining honeypot networks, analyzing security telemetry, reducing false positives, and publishing actionable advisories. Provides staff-level technical leadership for authentication, authorization, account lifecycle, and partner relationship systems. Designs APIs, data models, distributed services, migration strategies, and event-driven architectures. Leads cross-team initiatives, improves testing, observability, deployment safety, and reliability, and mentors engineers. The role requires strong backend and distributed-systems expertise, security-sensitive problem solving, AI-assisted engineering fluency, and experience with production operations.

Define the architecture and technical direction of Coalition’s enterprise data platform. Build scalable Snowflake and dbt infrastructure, governed data models, batch and streaming pipelines, reusable data products, feature stores, semantic models, and AI data foundations. Establish standards for data quality, security, lineage, observability, and regulated workflows. Partner across engineering, product, underwriting, actuarial, security, and business teams while mentoring engineers and guiding cross-team architecture.

Build and enhance Coalition’s underwriting workbench, a data-intensive frontend application used by underwriters. Responsibilities include developing responsive React interfaces, AI-assisted workflows, complex state management, REST API integrations, performance and reliability improvements, reusable components, testing, code reviews, and roadmap contributions. The role partners closely with Product, Design, backend engineers, and underwriters to improve workflows and user outcomes.

Build and deploy AI agents that automate internal business processes. Responsibilities include authoring reusable agent skills, integrating systems through MCP, creating evaluation sets, deploying production workflows with permissions and audit trails, and partnering with data engineers. The role requires translating business processes into reliable agent workflows, supporting deployed agents, and maintaining operational quality using Python, SQL, Git, CI, and containers.

Lead data-driven underwriting improvements by analyzing claims, risk signals, and underwriting data; build statistical and ML models for cyber risk assessment, pricing, and automation; produce dashboards and reports; collaborate with actuarial, product, and engineering teams; mentor teammates and lead cross-functional initiatives to optimize underwriting and risk selection.

Lead labeling quality and methodology for ML at Coalition: design annotation tasks, define quality frameworks (IAA, gold standards), manage Label Studio and vendor BPOs, partner with ML/data teams, and track operational metrics to improve accuracy and throughput.
