Frequently Asked Questions
Airwallex offers employees a structured approach to career growth that combines transparent career frameworks, regular performance conversations, meaningful ownership and opportunities to help build one of the world's fastest-growing financial technology platforms. Rather than waiting years to take on greater responsibility, employees are encouraged to stretch into new challenges, develop expertise through hands-on work and grow alongside a business expanding across global markets. Internal engagement data also suggests that career development is an area of strength, with employees reporting frequent coaching conversations and opportunities to build new skills.

One employee shared, “I've been trusted with responsibilities much earlier than I expected,” while another described the company as a place with “many learning opportunities and growth.”
- Long-term rewards that grow with your career: Airwallex complements professional development with competitive compensation, discretionary annual bonuses and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) in most markets, allowing employees to share in the company's long-term success as they advance their careers.

Airwallex Employee Perspectives
At Airwallex, you’ll be joining a team where you will have opportunities to drive direct business outcomes and accelerate your professional growth.

My leaders and teammates were instrumental in my early days. My Director, Aziza, spent hours walking me through both the payments landscape and how payments are uniquely handled at Airwallex. My manager, Meet, created a safe space where I could ask even the simplest questions, which really accelerated my learning.
At the same time, I made self-learning a big part of my journey. I relied heavily on AI tools to break down complex concepts, research industry trends, and quickly get up to speed on payment fundamentals. Pairing that curiosity with hands-on projects gave me a way to connect theory with practice.
I also joined Airwallex’s mentorship program, which paired me with an experienced payments leader, Nicole, who has been invaluable in helping me navigate the payments industry and also my career growth.

When I first joined, Singapore’s SME & Growth commercial team was a small group of less than 10. I came in as the first regional Strategy & Operations hire, with a clear mandate: to help take the business from 0 to 1. Since then, the team has multiplied a few fold, and our business has scaled more than 50x.
I had always aspired to take on a commercial role, and in 2023 I got my first opportunity to lead our inbound sales team of two. As the business evolved, new needs emerged: I expanded my scope to lead the account management team, and subsequently built up our customer success team.
My roles have evolved alongside Airwallex’s growth, but the one thing that has remained constant is my drive to learn, adapt, and throw myself into whatever the business needs next.
