Why This Role Matters
As the Senior Manager, Agency Operations & Business Enablement within Retail Insurance, you will play a pivotal role in building and managing the agency operations model—establishing its structure, processes, and foundational capabilities. Once launched, your focus will shift to leading and optimizing daily operations, ensuring efficiency, performance, and continuous improvement. As the agency grows, you will also play a key role in developing a Service Centre of Excellence to enhance Retail Insurance support, scalability, and service capabilities. This position is ideal for a leader who thrives on building, optimizing, and scaling high-performing operational models.
What You’ll Do
Build & Launch the Agency Operations Framework
- Design and implement the agency operational model, ensuring it is structured for long-term success.
- Develop key processes for agent onboarding, training, performance tracking, and compliance frameworks.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of agency operations.
- Implement technology and automation tools to support agency efficiency and scalability from day one.
- Establish performance metrics and KPIs to measure success and drive continuous improvement.
Manage, Optimize & Scale Agency Operations
- Oversee daily agency operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and high performance.
- Enhance the agent experience by refining processes, improving support mechanisms, and removing operational barriers.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, driving continuous improvement and strategic enhancements.
- Advance digital enablement, partnering with IT teams to optimize technology tools, automation, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance and risk management, evolving policies and procedures as the agency scales.
- Drive scalability and sustainability, introducing best-in-class service and support models.
- Champion continuous improvement, leveraging data and technology to refine processes and maximize agent success.
What You Bring
- Industry expertise: 7+ years of experience in insurance operations, agency management, or a related field.
- Builder’s mindset: Experience in launching new operational frameworks or distribution models is a strong asset.
- Operational excellence: Proven ability to manage and optimize scalable processes, drive performance, and lead continuous improvements.
- Technology and automation skills: Familiarity with CRM systems, workflow automation, data analytics, and digital tools to enhance efficiency.
- Strategic and entrepreneurial thinking: Ability to navigate ambiguity, anticipate challenges, and develop forward-thinking solutions.
- Leadership and influence: Strong ability to inspire teams, drive change, and collaborate across functions.
- Exceptional communication skills: Ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, from front-line agents to senior executives.

Salary:
$84,000.00 - $156,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
