Job Responsibilities:
As an Operational Management Intern at Magna Automotive, you will have the opportunity to enhance your operational management skills, critical thinking abilities, and practical knowledge in a dynamic and fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. You will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining valuable insights and exposure to various aspects of operational management. This internship provides an excellent platform for personal and professional growth, and a chance to make a real impact on the organization's operations.
Responsibilities
- Grow practical knowledge and skill by taking on real-time, on-the-job projects to improve operations such as waste reduction, process optimization, quality improvements or managing supply chain issues.
- Work under the guidance of operational leaders and industry experts to:
- Learn and apply foundational concepts and processes in manufacturing, quality and supply chain, and understand their interdependencies.
- Collect and analyze production data to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- Recommend innovative solutions to optimize processes and / or enhance products.
- Troubleshoot and solution day to day challenges as they arise on the shop floor.
Your preferred qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities to solve problems with a proactive and innovative approach.
- Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Communication and collaboration skills to work stakeholders at various levels.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Prior experience.
Working Conditions
- Shop floor and office environment.
- Required to carry out routine, repetitive tasks such as reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, lifting, packing, stacking, bending, climbing / descending / going under or on equipment as well as some physical lifting.
- Regularly exposed to noise, temperature change and lubricants and vibration.
- Wears all PPE as required including company uniform.
