The Opportunity
AgeCare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the dietary needs of our residents, ensuring they receive appealing meals in a welcoming atmosphere.

As a Dietary Aide at AgeCare, reporting to the Director or Dietary Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. You will assist with the setup, preparation, serving, and cleanup of all meal services.

What You Will Do

  • Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Assist in the set up and preparation for service of various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, etc.

  • Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.

  • Assist with cleaning of dishware, and cutlery after each seating as required.

  • Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area as required.

  • Assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events.

  • Assist in the orientation and training of new dietary employees.

  • Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.

  • Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.

What You Bring

  • Food Handler's Certificate is required.

  • Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors.

  • Must have or be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program.

  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.

  • Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for the majority of shift.

  • Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.

  • Must be able to provide a current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Record Check, or be willing to obtain one.
