Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Leadership
- Partner with the President and Executive Team to define and execute financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Provide leadership on financial planning, forecasting, cash flow management, and capital allocation.
- Deliver insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate policies.
- Lead annual audits and manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and advisors.
- Manage treasury functions, including cash flow, working capital, and foreign exchange exposure.
- Ensure full compliance with all Canadian tax laws and relevant financial regulations.
- Identify and mitigate financial, operational, and regulatory risks.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Support governance requirements, including Board and committee reporting as applicable.
- Oversee all aspects of finance and administration such as Accounts payable, Billing, Accounts receivable, Collection, Payroll.
- Oversee contracts review (scope may vary).
- Drive process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Lead, develop, and mentor high-performing finance and administrative teams.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support talent development and succession planning within the function.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or Master’s degree an asset).
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in finance, including senior leadership roles.
- Proven experience in a private-sector environment, ideally within a growth-oriented organization.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong knowledge of tax compliance.
- Experience overseeing administrative or shared services functions is an asset.
