About Fulfillment IQ (FIQ):

Fulfillment IQ is a supply chain engineering and transformation company that helps brands, retailers, and 3PLs design, build, and scale high-performance logistics operations.

We work at the intersection of strategy, operations, and technology where we solve complex, real-world problems across warehouse design, automation, order management, transportation, and end-to-end supply chain execution.

Our teams combine deep domain expertise with strong technical capability, delivering outcomes through consulting, systems implementation, and proprietary platforms that accelerate time-to-value and reduce delivery risk.

If you enjoy working in complex environments, partnering closely with clients, and seeing your work make a tangible impact on how global commerce moves, this is the place where your skills and judgment truly come to life.

Role Overview

We're looking for a mid-level UI/UX Designer to join Crossdock Studios, where we specialize in bringing 0-to-1 product ideas to life. You'll work across the full design lifecycle — from early concept and user research through wireframes, prototypes, and polished, production-ready UI — partnering closely with product managers and engineers to turn ambiguous, early-stage ideas into simple, intuitive experiences.

This is a generalist role: you'll move fluidly between research, interaction design, visual design, and design systems work, depending on what the product needs at any given moment. You'll thrive here if you enjoy the challenge of designing for products that don't exist yet.

What You'll Do:

  • Research & Discovery: Conduct user interviews, synthesize findings, and translate insights into actionable design decisions.
  • UX Design: Map user journeys and flows, build wireframes and prototypes, and iterate based on feedback and usability testing.
  • UI Design: Create polished, high-fidelity mockups and visual designs that are consistent, accessible, and on-brand.
  • Design Systems: Contribute to and maintain a shared component library/design system to ensure consistency across web and mobile.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with PMs and engineers throughout the product lifecycle — from early concept through implementation and QA.
  • Prototyping: Build interactive prototypes to test concepts before development investment.
  • Cross-functional Communication: Present design rationale and decisions clearly to stakeholders, incorporating feedback from technical and non-technical partners alike.

What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days:

30 Days In

  • Ramped up on Crossdock's product portfolio, current design system, and existing Figma libraries/component patterns.
  • Shadowed active projects to understand how the team moves from research through to shipped UI, and met the cross-functional partners (Product, Engineering, Marketing).
  • Completed at least one small, well-scoped design task (e.g., a UI polish pass or a minor flow update) to get familiar with the review and handoff process.

60 Days In

  • Independently owned the design for one feature or workflow end-to-end — from wireframes through high-fidelity UI — with light oversight from Linda.
  • Started contributing to the shared component library/design system rather than only consuming it.
  • Built working relationships with engineering (comfortable handing off specs that a developer can build from without repeated clarification).

90 Days In

  • Leading design on a defined product area or workstream with minimal day-to-day oversight, including running or synthesizing user research when needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple in-flight design requests across Product, Engineering, and Marketing stakeholders.
  • Design output is consistently meeting Linda's bar for quality without requiring significant rework.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Design throughput: Number of features/flows taken from concept to shipped UI per quarter.
  • Design system contribution: Number of components added to or improved in the shared library.
  • Cycle time: Time from design kickoff to engineering-ready handoff, and reduction in handoff rework/clarification cycles.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction: Qualitative feedback from Product and Engineering partners on clarity and usability of design handoffs.
  • Usability quality: Results from usability testing/feedback cycles on shipped designs (e.g., reduced friction points identified post-launch).

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

  • 3–5 years of experience in UI/UX design for digital products (web and/or mobile).
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design work — research, flows, wireframes, prototypes, and finished UI.
  • Proficiency with Figma and experience creating interactive prototypes for validation.
  • Solid understanding of usability principles and accessibility standards.
  • Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system.
  • Experience working in fast-moving B2B or SaaS product environments.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate design work — e.g., using AI for generating mockups, building out or maintaining design systems, speeding up iteration, or exploring concepts faster and with higher quality.
  • Experience designing for complex, data-rich, or workflow-driven products (e.g., internal tools, enterprise software, dashboards) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of responsive design best practices is a plus.
