Strategic Business Development Lawyer – LexisNexis Canada

About The Role

This is a predominantly remote role with periodic in-office attendance. LexisNexis Canada is looking for a Strategic Business Development Lawyer to join our team and work with our large law firm customers to ensure that they realize maximum value from their LexisNexis services, including Lexis+ AI with Protégé. The Strategic Business Development Lawyer serves as both product expert and legal practice expert, educating and building relationships with customers, partnering as a trusted advisor to ensure lawyers successfully adopt our services in their legal practice.  

Responsibilities:

  • Directing the adoption of workflows from Lexis+ AI with Protégé into legal practices and lawyer tasks and processes

  • Supporting and directly driving sales of Lexis+AI with Protege

  • Delivering a superior customer and prospect experience for Lexis+ AI with Protégé based on a deep understanding of lawyers’ legal practice needs, expectations and goals

  • Growing usage and adoption of LexisNexis services with our customers

  • Managing product trials and multi-stage, multi-stakeholder evaluations across complex organizations

  • Preparing and delivering customer presentations to promote adoption and sales

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key contacts and decision makers within customer organizations

  • Identify events and associations relevant to the advancement of the product and act as an evangelist for the adoption of LexisNexis AI solutions.

  • Assist in the development of online resources and content, such as videos, reference guides, emails, social media posts and in-product messages

  • Bring meaningful insights from the customer and the market into the business to help improve our products and market knowledge

Requirements:

  • A  J.D. or LL.B degree

  • 3-5 years of recent experience in legal practice at a large (more than 100 lawyers) well-known Canadian Firm

  • In-depth understanding of law firm operations and trends affecting the legal industry

  • Ability to create and present materials and presentations to an executive level audience using both written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience and ability in building customer relationships

  • Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving abilities

  • Written and verbal communication skills in French are an asset

  • Knowledge of corporate legal department operations is an asset

  • Sales and advocacy experience are an asset.
