About the Role
As a Core Buyer, you will be responsible for supporting BoM cost development and sourcing execution of our platform projects. You will work close to your dedicated product area, Senior Core Buyer and participate in project meetings. You will also support purchasing input in customer RFQs within your dedicated product area. In this role you will be part of a global team of Core Buyers. For the sourcing activities you will be part of a sourcing team together with the Category team, Component Development and Supplier Quality.
Your Responsibilities
Generates, distributes and follows up on all RFQ’s, as per the Global Purchasing Procedure for the regional commodities.
Supports quote process for customer RFQ’s and works with strategic Purchasing at the early stages of program definition.
Evaluates/consolidates all quotes received from Category Managers for strategic commodities.
Supports quote reviews as required.
Supports sourcing decision processes.
Assists in analysis of new trends in technology and the market with commodity teams.
Participates and supports quote & engineering team meetings during quote phase, where applicable and forwards status and open issues to relevant purchasing team members.
Tracks the cost model for purchased components and materials, as applicable, for pre-development programs.
Assists in negotiating the best possible prices.
Maintains supplier relationships that are both productive and mutually beneficial while continually searching for and renegotiating cost savings on new sourcing opportunities, with current and / or new suppliers.
Works cooperatively with peers to implement consistent policies, procedures, strategies and reporting.
Participates in continuous improvement efforts for products, tools, processes and programs.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of platform objectives
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a self-going and experienced Buyer, preferably with automotive experience. The ideal candidate is used to coordinate parallel activities, has strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and has a strategic mindset.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related.
Experience
5+ years of applicable experience preferred, preferably in automotive electronics
Your preferred qualifications
Strong organizational and communication skills are critical
Interpersonal skills
Proficiency in excel required
Knowledge of MRP systems (JDE) is beneficial.
