Job Description:

This is a hybrid role based in Toronto for a Social Media Manager at Puppy Sphere.

 

We’re looking for a creative, culturally plugged-in social media leader who is excited to take ownership of a fun, fast-growing brand with massive viral potential. You understand what makes people stop scrolling, know how to turn everyday moments into standout content, and can balance playful ideas with thoughtful brand strategy.

 

The Social Media Manager will own Puppy Sphere’s social presence across platforms, from developing content concepts and capturing trends to managing the content calendar, growing our community, and helping shape how the brand shows up online. You’ll work closely with our marketing, partnerships, and studio teams to bring the Puppy Sphere world to life in a way that feels relevant, memorable, and unmistakably us.

This is a full-time, hybrid role located in Toronto, Ontario. Some travel and weekend work may be required.

Total Compensation: Up to $82,500 per annum

  • Base Salary: $75,000 per annum
  • Annual Bonus Opportunity: Up to 10% of base salary.
Job Responsibilities
  • Own and manage the brand across all social media channels.
  • Build, lead, and scale Puppy Sphere's Social Media function, including recruiting, onboarding, managing, and developing Content Creators and additional team members as the department grows.
  • Develop and execute the organic social media strategy to drive brand awareness, community growth, and engagement across all social platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.
  • Plan, create, and publish high-quality social-first content, including short-form video, photography, copy, and campaign assets.
  • Manage the social content calendar, ensuring projects are delivered on time and aligned with marketing priorities and campaigns.
  • Monitor social media performance, prepare weekly and monthly reports, and use insights to optimize content strategy.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends, platform updates, and cultural moments to keep Puppy Sphere's content fresh, elevated, and innovative.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Creative, Operations, and Paid Media to execute integrated campaigns.
  • Develop creative concepts, shot lists, scripts, and creative briefs for social campaigns while maintaining brand quality and consistency.
  • Support the growth of Puppy Sphere's local communities through content creation and social strategy for community initiatives and in-studio activations.
  • Capture original photo and video content at Puppy Sphere studios, events, and launches as needed.
Job Requirements:
  • 3+ years of social media marketing experience for a consumer, lifestyle, wellness, hospitality, or high-growth brand.
  • Proven success growing social media communities and creating high-performing content across major social platforms.
  • Strong skills in short-form video production, photography, copywriting, and visual storytelling.
  • Proficiency with content creation and social media management tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Buffer, Asana, or similar platforms.
  • Experience leading content creators, freelancers, or social teams.
  • Strong understanding of social analytics and the ability to translate performance data into actionable insights.
  • Experience managing social deliverables for partnerships, influencer collaborations, or events.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A deep understanding of social media trends, internet culture, and platform best-practices.
  • Willingness to work on-site regularly in Toronto and travel occasionally for studio launches and events.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with paid social teams to develop paid creative assets.
  • Familiarity with influencer and affiliate marketing platforms and social listening tools.
  • Experience building online communities for consumer, wellness, or membership-based brands.
