About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who thrives in high-ownership environments and can drive complex product initiatives from concept to production. In this role, you will own user-facing features end-to-end—from understanding customer workflows and identifying the right product solution to designing, implementing, validating, deploying, and operating production-ready systems.
Success in this role requires systems-to-workflow thinking: the ability to connect software architecture, data models, APIs, integrations, and AI capabilities with the real-world experience of customers, implementation teams, and internal operators. You will balance long-term technical investments with pragmatic product delivery, ensuring that solutions are scalable, maintainable, and deliver meaningful customer value.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have a meaningful impact on the future of exacare’s platform by owning key product capabilities and contributing to technical decisions within your team. You’ll identify opportunities to build reusable components, improve existing systems, and accelerate engineering velocity. Working closely with product, design, clinical, and customer-facing teams, you’ll solve ambiguous problems, contribute to architectural decisions, and support fellow engineers through thoughtful code reviews, collaboration, and mentorship as we scale.
What You’ll Do
- Own product features end-to-end: Take features from understanding the workflow problem through technical design, implementation, testing, production rollout, and ongoing support, working independently and seeking input when needed.
- Bring systems-to-workflow thinking: Connect software architecture, data models, APIs, and integrations to how customers, operators, and implementation teams experience the product.
- Build and ship user-facing product: Design and deliver reliable full-stack features that support complex healthcare workflows at scale, using TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and modern cloud tooling on AWS.
- Drive quality and production readiness: Build testing, observability, and safe deployment practices into your work, proactively addressing rollout risks and helping resolve production issues.
- Build reusable solutions: Identify opportunities to create shared components, simplify common workflows, and improve integrations or AI-powered capabilities across the product.
- Collaborate and support your team: Work closely with product, operations, platform, ML, and engineering partners to deliver maintainable solutions, while supporting fellow engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and mentorship.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar technical field
- 5+ years of engineering experience with a focus on building highly scalable distributed systems
- Self-starter – you are comfortable rapidly learning new technologies and turning a high-level task into a game plan
- Demonstrated ability to triage and prioritize production incidents efficiently
- Ownership mentality and resourcefulness
- Organized, high attention to detail, with emphasis on quality code, automation, validation and testing
- Experience with AWS, LLMs, TypeScript, PostgreSQL
- Strong ability to translate technical concepts into accessible language for cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Experience with building automated workflows
Nice to Have
- Experience building applied AI features or working with LLM infrastructure.
- Experience with healthcare workflows, care-setting variability, or regulated environments.
- Experience with EHR integrations or health data standards.
- Experience with operational tooling or onboarding/support-heavy product surfaces.
- Experience building reusable patterns or frameworks that help teams move faster.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
Benefits and Perks
- Competitive salary and equity in a high-growth startup
- Flexible PTO, take what you need
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Great startup culture, including ChatGPT premium and company off-sites
- High-achieving team, including ex-Amazon engineers and alumni of Bain, BCG, and Goldman Sachs
An insight into our Core Values
Only the best belong here
We are unapologetic about talent. This should be the best team you have ever been on. Protecting that standard is how we honor each other’s time, ambition, and craft.
We work even harder to keep our partners than we did to earn them initially
The work does not stop when a customer first onboards to our platform. It deepens over time. We partner with operators, listening and learning about real problems, and translate that into solutions that help them succeed in practice. We earn trust through consistent delivery.
We keep the patient downstream of every decision
At the end of the day, this is about the patient. We get there by deeply respecting and reflecting on our purpose: to develop software that aids teams in delivering better care.
Raise the bar on ownership
We grow because people here go beyond the minimum. We invest extra effort, care, and ownership into what we build.
The world is moving fast. We move faster.
This is a race. We work hard, we move early, and we stay ahead of problems and competitors. If we slow down, someone else will pass us.
Radical candor, zero politics
We say what’s true, early, and we keep communication direct and clean so the team can move.
Bring good vibes and win together
We win as a team. We bring energy, support each other, and make the workplace somewhere people are excited to show up.
If this sounds like you, we'd love to have a chat!
