Role Summary

The Senior Manager, Procurement is responsible for leading strategic sourcing and supply initiatives for seafood products across global markets. This role works closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the company secures competitive costs, quality products, and reliable service levels to meet customer requirements. The successful candidate will build and maintain strong supplier relationships, identify sourcing opportunities, negotiate agreements, and proactively manage supply risks and changing market conditions.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the sourcing and coordination of seafood products from suppliers across global markets.
  • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies that support business objectives, customer requirements, cost targets, quality standards, and service levels.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with international suppliers, co-packers, and other external partners.
  • Negotiate regular purchases, longer-term contracts, and RFPs to secure competitive pricing and favourable commercial terms.
  • Work closely with Sales, Product Development, Marketing, Supply Chain, and other internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business and customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a diversified, multi-source supplier base to support business continuity and sales requirements.
  • Assess supplier capabilities, capacity, performance, and market conditions to proactively identify and mitigate supply risks.
  • Identify and develop new suppliers and co-packers, including quickly sourcing alternative supply solutions when global market conditions or supply issues arise.
  • Monitor global markets, commodity trends, supply conditions, and other market opportunities to support effective purchasing and forecasting decisions.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain to establish appropriate lead times and ensure inventory is available to meet customer requirements.
  • Provide strategic procurement insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders based on market analysis, supplier capabilities, and business requirements.
  • Engage with international markets to support alignment with customer category strategies and broader business objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing procurement environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills

  • 5+ years of progressive procurement experience within the food industry, seafood strongly preferred.
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience overseeing vendor management, cost management, strategic sourcing, and supply management across diverse product categories.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, relationship-building, team-building, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives and deliver measurable business results.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop team members.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally to visit suppliers, co-packers, and industry events.
  • This position is based in a professional office setting, with work primarily performed at a desk using a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment.

The annual base salary for this role is expected to fall between $120,000 and $140,000.
