Senior DevOps Engineer

In this role you will get to:
Build and strengthen the DevOps foundations for Data Engineering, ML/AI, and Data Science teams
Design, implement, and maintain scalable, highly available infrastructure and data systems
Lead DevOps initiatives with a strong focus on the GCP cloud ecosystem (mandatory), including tools, services, and uptime
Architect, build, improve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and internal release systems
Drive CI/CD strategy with emphasis on reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement
Automate deployment, scaling, monitoring, and operational workflows
Continuously analyze and enhance existing CI/CD pipelines and environments
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, including performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures
Build tools and automation to eliminate repetitive tasks and improve internal/customer experience
Plan and support scaling of data infrastructure and capacity for various products
Collaborate closely with Data Engineering, ML/AI teams, Data Scientists, Analysts, Enterprise Architects, SREs, and Infrastructure teams
Participate in infrastructure design and project planning, assessing technical risks and impacts
Ensure cybersecurity best practices across infrastructure and deployments
Perform routine maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably
Document DevOps processes, infrastructure, and technical specifications clearly
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering best practices and knowledge sharing
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
7+ years of progressively complex related experience.
An understanding of DevOps principles and a desire to push the organization further.
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud services including Airflow / Google Cloud ComposerVertex AI, BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow, Cloud Storage (GCS), Pub/Sub, and IAM.
Amazon Web Services and other cloud technologies is a plus.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
Strong experience with Kubernetes ecosystem, including Helm
Exposure to deployment tools such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins and overall CI and CD knowledge
Managing databases including MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Couchbase.
Monitoring tools including cloud logging, splunk, and NewRelic.
Scripting languages such as bash/shell and Python.
Experience with project management software such as Jira.
Good documentation skills.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, certain roles may be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant.
The salary range for this position is $130,000- $165,000K CAD
