Location: Toronto, CA - Hybrid

In this position, you’ll be based in the Toronto (Bay Street) office for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for some of your working week. Your working hours will be 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday with flexible hours typically from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Computershare Issuer Services has a unique opportunity for someone to contribute their talents and strengths as a Senior Designer.

This Senior Designer position will be positioned within the Creative team dedicated to the North America Issuer Services business line. The Creative team is situated within the Marketing team and works closely together with our business unit portfolio marketing partners, to create powerful campaigns and events and to drive revenue growth. 

The Marketing team provides customer and market intelligence, brand strategy, campaign development and execution and strategic client pursuit (proposals) as a ‘center of excellence’. All marketing projects are managed by the Marketing Services team to bring together marketing expertise, best practice, consistency to everything delivered to clients, and leverage global content while ensuring local relevance and market specific requirements. 
A role you will love

The Senior Designer role provides design leadership and creative execution that enhances and supports the company’s core business strategies across the North America Issuer Services business. It supports all creative projects with an expertise in video, developing original design concepts and supporting global marketing campaigns across many types of media, including original video animations, live-action video editing, web page design, advertising, social media, event design presentations and print layouts. Design responsibilities will include 50% video creation / editing and 50% other design (print / events / digital media).

This role will report directly to the Creative Marketing Director, working alongside a team of designers and copywriters to consistently deliver strategically sound, high-quality work. This Senior Designer will expertly collaborate with other teams and departments developing and articulating creative ideas to a range of audiences. The ideal candidate should be able to efficiently combine creativity, functionality, and technology to produce eye-catching and informative content. They should have strong design and layout skills which will extend across multi-media.

In this role, organizational and technical skills are key, and the Senior Designer must possess in-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, also having significant experience in After Effects and Premiere Pro.

  • Think creatively to conceptualize campaigns, translating business objectives into creative assets that are targeted to specific audiences. 
  • Conceptualize, design, and produce strategic marketing materials which supports the objectives
  • Develop multiple concepts for campaigns, translating business objectives into designed assets that are targeted to specific audiences
  • Produce a high-quality design output across the organisation
  • Clearly present finalized ideas and concepts to internal clients or business leaders
  • Support a creative environment that is conducive to creative development and sharing
  • Ensure quality and timely delivery of projects within budget and on brand
  • Test designs for usability and quality where appropriate
  • Be part of an interdisciplinary and global marketing team, helping to create whatever is needed to push high-priority projects forward

What will you bring to the role?  

In this role, organizational and technical skills are key, and the senior designer must possess in-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, with a deep skill level in Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro.

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university. 

Minimum of 5-6 years’ minimum experience at a design firm, agency, or in-house design department.

Demonstrated interest and curiosity in emerging design trends and digital media, experience with digital platforms and marketing automation software a plus.

Ability to conceptualize and produce strategic marketing collateral in electronic formats (web pages, emails, video animations, video software demonstrations, digital advertising). 

Proven excellent leadership skills and the ability to present ideas and concepts well; with the ability to work remotely in a matrixed, collaborative team environment. 

Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills - able to forge strong relationships with stakeholders across various business functions. May involve relationships with external suppliers and freelancers when needed and the following internal relationships:

Compensation. The typical base pay range for this role is $78,000- $87,400.
