What is the opportunity?
The RBC Borealis Data Solutions team will build data-driven products and services/API’s, tackle challenging and interesting data-related problems using RBC's massive internal datasets and strategically partner with the business to enable client interactions to be informed by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The RBC Borealis Incubator team is part of the RBC Borealis Data Solutions. The focus of the Incubator is to create a structured foundation for identifying and experimenting with novel concepts. Data Engineers in the team play an important role to research, explore and implement cutting-edge technologies to deliver immediate business values to our business partners.
What will you do?
- Take full ownership of work outcomes including research, design and implementation of solutions utilizing our domain driven Machine Learning and AI services.
- Apply design thinking and an agile mindset in working with other engineers, data scientists and business stakeholders to continuously experiment, iterate and deliver on new initiatives.
- Leverage best practices in continuous integration and delivery, with a strong commitment to leading with quality.
- Explore new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation.
- Write and publish innovative approaches in technical white papers, research papers or patents.
- Participate in code reviews for the engineers on your team, ensuring our delivery of clean, well-tested, and performant software.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or equivalent.
- Experience in developing scalable, configurable applications using Python, Transformers and SQL.
- A passion for simplifying and automating work, making things better, continuous learning, solving open-ended problems, improving efficiency, and helping others.
- Strong communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally to articulate, measure and solve issues.
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in computer science, statistics, or mathematics.
- Experience in applying Machine Learning / Generative AI to solve real business use cases.
- Knowledge of public cloud environments (Azure & AWS).
