THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a Sales and Marketing Analyst who will play a critical role in supporting our sales and marketing efforts. Reporting to the Sales Operations Manager, the Analyst will focus on identifying, researching, and qualifying leads, ensuring alignment with the company’s product offerings and strategic goals.


 As an integral part of the John Brooks Sales Team, the role involves leveraging technical and commercial insights to identify new opportunities, analyzing sales and marketing data to improve pipeline performance, and maintaining the integrity of our CRM systems.


The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and proactive in delivering actionable insights to support business growth. With a passion for research and a commitment to collaboration, the Sales and Marketing Analyst will help position the company as a trusted project partner in the industries we serve.



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical and Commercial Research for Leads

  • Research and identify potential leads using industry bidding reports, procurement databases, and other relevant sources.
  • Shortlist and select leads for further research and investigation.
  • Conduct technical research to understand the process and how the company’s products fit.
  • Conduct research on various stakeholders for the lead, using sources such as LinkedIn, Google, and the company’s CRM system.
  • Organize and manage meetings with applicable departments to further qualify leads before contacting clients.

Lead Qualification & Sales Prospecting

  • Qualify leads based on predefined criteria, ensuring alignment with the company’s product offerings and sales strategy.
  • Create/Assign lead opportunities in CRM with complete project and stakeholder information, based on Reports, including:
    • Investigate stakeholders' backgrounds and interests (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter).
    • Research project details to determine its current stage.
    • Check prior work with the same company or contact in the CRM database.
    • Research past applications similar in scope to identify equipment opportunities.
    • Work with internal contacts as needed.
  • Prepare high-level process flow diagrams of projects (e.g., PFDs for a mine water tailings management process) to identify equipment opportunities.
  • Validate process flows using internal, academic, and internet resources.
  • Support sales teams across all divisions by positioning the company as a Project Partner, making initial contact with customers and setting up meetings with product specialists for further probing.
  • Provide actionable recommendations for improving lead generation tactics and pipeline management.

Data Mining and Reporting

  • Analyze internal sales and marketing data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to support the pipeline.
  • Assist in developing actionable reports and dashboards to provide insights into lead generation performance and sales activities.
  • Generate reports and analyze their ROI.
  • Regularly update and maintain lead information and data in CRM systems to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with the sales operations team to maintain data integrity within CRM and other sales platforms.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-6 experience in the related field
  • Analytical mindset and critical thinking; ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, problem-solving, prioritization, organization, and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong collaboration skills – a team player at heart.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal, including the ability to communicate with all levels of management, project teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of the sales process and lead qualification methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and marketing automation platforms.


Desirable:

  • Previous experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.
  • Experience with industry-specific bidding reports or procurement systems.
  • Previous experience with project management is an asset.
