Role Summary:
The Platform Engineer is responsible for management and support of various container technologies in the infrastructure engineering team. The incumbent will design, build and maintain solutions based on business requirements and evaluation of information technology trends and practices.

  • The Impact of Your Role

As a Platform Engineer within Global Enterprise Services (GES), you will be at the heart of TMX Group’s digital evolution. GES is the foundational engine that powers our business lines through cutting-edge technology and operational excellence.

You aren't just managing servers; you are architecting the resilient, elastic, and secure container ecosystems that drive the global financial markets. You will bridge the gap between legacy stability and future-forward innovation, ensuring our infrastructure is as dynamic as the markets we support.

    What You Will Do
  • Architect & Orchestrate: Design and maintain a multi-cloud Kubernetes ecosystem (EKS, GKE, OpenShift, and Rancher) with a focus on high availability and cost-efficiency.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Treat infrastructure like software. You will build, configure, and monitor environments across the SDLC using programmatic, repeatable methods.

  • Modernize Networking: Implement and manage advanced architectures, including Service Mesh and loosely coupled designs, to ensure robust service discovery and security.

  • CI/CD Leadership: Build and optimize automated pipelines for seamless integration and deployment, leveraging container registries to accelerate delivery.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Security and Data Architects to develop bulletproof failover/failback strategies and data protection protocols.

  • Innovation & Thought Leadership: Stay ahead of the curve. You will evaluate emerging tech trends and act as a change agent to evolve our internal practices.

    Who You Are
  • A Problem Solver: You have a "systems thinking" approach and can troubleshoot complex, distributed environments under pressure.

  • A Continuous Learner: You don’t just use tools; you understand the "why" behind them and enjoy exploring the latest CNCF landscape.

  • Organized & Reliable: You can manage competing priorities and contribute to a 24/7 high-stakes environment via rotational on-call support.

  • Communicator: You can translate complex technical requirements into actionable designs for stakeholders and vendors alike.
