What You’ll Do:

We are seeking an experienced SRE Platform Engineer (Infrastructure & Automation) to join the CTB SRE team, reporting to the AVP of SRE and Operations. Canadian Tire Bank is early in our DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) maturity and are investing in building foundational platform capabilities.

This role will focus on designing, building, and automating reliable infrastructure and shared platform services that support application teams across the bank. You will help establish practical DevOps and SRE practices, improve system reliability, and reduce operational toil in a regulated environment, while helping the organization responsibly adopt modern tooling and, over time, AI‑assisted engineering practices.

In this role, you are expected to:

  • Work closely with infrastructure, application, security, and operations teams to design and evolve shared platform and infrastructure services

  • Design, build, and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure‑as‑Code and automation-first approaches

  • Introduce and enforce pragmatic DevOps and SRE best practices, combining automation, CI/CD, and a strong culture of documentation, review, and collaboration

  • Improve system reliability, availability, and recoverability through automation, standardization, and monitoring

  • Help define and implement observability practices, including monitoring, logging, alerting, and dashboards

  • Reduce manual operational work by identifying repeatable tasks and automating them

  • Participate in incident response, post-incident reviews, and continuous improvement activities

  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure platform solutions that align with regulatory expectations

  • Support ad-hoc initiatives related to infrastructure modernization, cloud adoption, and platform enablement

  • Explore and help introduce AI-assisted engineering tools as access and maturity evolve, with a focus on efficiency, quality, and safety

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

  • 5+ years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or SRE roles

  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, and/or GCP) in production environments

  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation, or similar)

  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or automation language (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)

  • Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines and release automation

  • Practical knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools and practices

  • Strong understanding of reliability concepts such as availability, resiliency, incident management, and operational readiness

  • Hands-on experience with Git-based version control workflows

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams

  • Experience introducing DevOps or SRE practices in low‑to‑medium maturity environments

  • Exposure to containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Experience working in regulated industries such as banking, financial services, or retail

  • Familiarity with security, identity, and access management fundamentals

  • Early experience or strong interest in using AI tools to support engineering productivity and operations

We’re always looking for great talent! In addition to competitive pay, we offer:

  • Comprehensive benefits and retirement programs

  • Performance incentives, Continuing Education Programs

  • Other perks to support your well-being

  • Career growth opportunities and product discounts

Broadband Salary Range: $79,000 – $131,000 CAD.
Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. For critical roles, the compensation offering will be reviewed to ensure alignment with market rate and conditions and the unique value you bring to the role.
