What is the Opportunity?
An exciting opportunity to join the performance management advisory team, specifically the US Cash Management team, which is one of RBC’s top strategic priorities. This role will appeal to individuals who want to work in a fast-paced area that has significant visibility and a high profile across RBC (especially within Capital Markets). This individual must have an appetite for working in a forward looking and innovative environment, thrives on challenges, wants to over-achieve and make a real difference with the business.
What will you do?
- Support continuous monitoring of key metrics by delivering exceptional financial analysis and play a pivotal role in CM Finance’s capabilities to support CM’s strategic priorities
- Responsible for the financial governance, reporting, controllership and advisory to the business, both from a revenue and cost perspective specifically during this period when the business is growing.
- Provide day to day financial support and controls to our business partners, with a deep understanding of both business and platform financials.
- Proliferate the use of technologies and automation to create scale and standardization across reporting templates
- Support Large Program Management and represent CM CFO helping to create materials for their governance forums (e.g. Steering Committees, Executive Committees).
- Support the development of PAR Financials and analysis of proposed business cases for US Cash Management to ensure alignment with CM priorities.
- Correspond with our T&O Finance partners to ensure project spend and messaging is aligned with all stakeholders
- Correspond with third party vendors / consultants, address escalations and resolution of issues.
- Building subject matter expertise on all revenue and cost lines; identify opportunities for further support cost saving initiatives.
- Leading the forecasting and plan process
- Build financial insights and complete adhoc financial analysis to support business leaders in making strategic decisions and reviewing historical costs.
- Responsible to track actual and forecasted spend against PAR approved funding.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Preferred: CPA or CFA with financial analysis background
- Strong team and relationship management abilities
- Keen sense of numbers and strong analytical skills with ability to multitask and handle high-pressure executive level requests on a continuous basis
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to influence stakeholders and mobilize groups to deliver on common goals
- Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
- Able to consistently exercise independent thought and judgment and adapt to new tasks quickly
- Proactive and persistent in issue resolution
- Experience in complex wholesale business activity, management reporting and analysis, and/or financial resource optimization.
- Very strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Presentation skills required, with data mining skill and ability to explore new technologies to enhance the delivery of financial information and Tableau experience an asset.
