As the Lead, Applications, you will be accountable for driving outcomes on Prioritized Enhancements & Efficiency (PEERs) requests by leading cross functional teams. You will develop high level of expertise in the functionality of our mainframe and participate in digital transformation projects as an SME based on the knowledge acquired. You will be responsible for ensuring the mainframe system remains operational, transactions process without errors, and financial reports are accurate.
A Day in the Life
PEERs (Prioritized Enhancements & Efficiency requests) & Projects:
- Provide high-level and low-level estimates for projects and PEERs.
- Translate business requirements into documented functional requirements for development teams.
- Design functional / technical specifications for projects
- Create Impact analysis document for PEERs
- Serve as the point person for system issue resolution; and oversee/align with Manager, the execution of approved solutions.
- Review code and testing for PEERs and outsourcing vendors.
- Assist in knowledge transfer to IT staff (Element and AMS teams).
- May coordinate issue resolution with 3rd party resources at times.
- Lead cross functional teams, with PEER resolution
- Lead and guide the quality delivery of enhancement work performed by outsourcing providers.
Steady State:
- Gain a deep understanding of critical program systems and processes.
- Manage day-to-day incidents, requests, and assigned application performance and availability.
- Engage in hands-on coding and guide others as needed.
- Participate in hands-on testing and assist with testing as required.
- Conduct root cause analysis for application incidents.
- Complete problem tasks arising from RCAs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of relevant work experience required
- Preferred experience in accounting or fleet management applications
- Hands-on proficiency in a mainframe environment, with strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL,
- Understanding of software development life cycles (Agile/Scrum, waterfall, ITIL)
- Working knowledge of cloud technologies and web-based systems, with a strong interest in pursuing advancements in this area
- Demonstrated desire to work on the transition from legacy to modern systems
- SORT/ICETOOL, VSAM, and CICS. Hands-on experience with REX, IDEAL, and DATACOMM is preferred
- Experience with change data capture (CDC) and data replication tools (tcVision) is preferred
- Experience with ServiceNow, JIRA, and Confluence is preferred
The hiring base salary range for this position is $99,200 - $136,400 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data.
