PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE

Project Scheduling & Milestone Management

  • Develop and maintain resource-loaded project schedules for multi-year transit projects in Primavera P6 from proposals, contract documents, and estimates.

  • Plan and establish key project milestones while continuously reviewing work activities to ensure long-term milestone support.

  • Analyze and monitor the total project critical path, schedule performance, and work logic to ensure overall adequacy and constructability.

  • Maintain and update schedule forecasts throughout the project life cycle, ensuring outside party schedules are properly linked to master schedules.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Progress Reporting

  • Partner with cross-functional project teams to align project baseline schedules with baseline budgets for all direct and indirect activities.

  • Communicate timely, informed, and up-to-date schedule information, trends, and forecasts to project leadership.

Process Alignment & Efficiency Optimization

  • Identify schedule considerations, resource constraints, and potential bottlenecks resulting from interdisciplinary or group restraints.

  • Perform and support resource loading and leveling to maximize crew efficiency and stabilize project workflows.

  • Review and analyze proposal provisions related to schedules to develop robust supporting data for contract negotiations.

  • Guide field crews and teams by determining the most appropriate period or season to execute works to optimize delivery.

Risk Mitigation & Subcontractor Oversight

  • Analyze subcontractors' schedules to forecast and trend completion target dates while reporting deviations accordingly.

  • Mitigate environmental impacts by factoring seasonal and regulatory constraints into the active execution schedules.

  • Gather and interpret complex project data from both internal and external sources to identify baseline deviations early.

  • Recommend corrective actions and track schedule adjustments during all phases of the project lifecycle.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-3 years of experience in a dedicated Planner or Scheduler role.

  • Experience in the construction industry working specifically on Transit projects.

  • Proven experience with Primavera P6, including resource loading, leveling, and critical path analysis.

  • Strong knowledge of reading, understanding, and interpreting engineering drawings and contract documents.

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.

  • Highly developed critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex data and visualize schedule logic.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
