About the Role

We are seeking an eager and technically motivated Junior Infrastructure Support Specialist to join our Operations Services Team. This role is at the intersection of data centre operations and modern cloud infrastructure, providing hands-on exposure to automation, Linux/Windows administration, and cloud platforms. You will contribute to a 24/7 production environment, supporting critical systems across two data centre locations with guidance from senior team members.

Our team operates on a rotating shift schedule of 3 x 12.5-hour shifts per week on a 6-week rotation, with shifts starting at 6:30 AM or 6:30 PM. Reliable personal transportation is required. Limited overtime may be required for project activities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Monitor, control, and report on site service technician activities and hosted customer systems to ensure continuous operational integrity.

  • Enforce Data Centre security standards in accordance with PCI DSS, COBIT frameworks, internal policies, and applicable governmental regulations.

  • Manage physical infrastructure tasks including server racking/decommissioning, hardware labelling, and provisioning of power, LAN, and SAN connections.

  • Conduct proactive monitoring and scheduled inspections of facilities and server systems; escalate anomalies and incidents with urgency and precision.

  • Maintain data centre environments to the highest standards of cleanliness, documentation accuracy, and operational readiness.

  • Receive and physically deploy new server hardware in support of infrastructure buildouts and refresh cycles.

Systems & Cloud Operations Administration

  • Cloud & Automation (Priority): Candidates with hands-on Azure administration, RedHat RHCSA certification, Ansible Tower automation, and BigFix experience will be strongly preferred.

  • Monitor, triage, and resolve incidents and service requests through the ServiceNow ITSM platform in alignment with defined SLAs.

  • Deliver first-line technical support across all data centre systems and applications, with a strong bias toward root cause analysis and permanent resolution.

  • Administer and patch RHEL and Windows Server environments (2012–2025) across physical, virtual (VMware ESX), and cloud (Azure) platforms using BigFix automation tooling.

  • Performance monitoring and basic administration of servers.

  • Support CommVault Backup operations including media management, job scheduling, failure analysis, and escalation workflows.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining automation scripts and operational runbooks using Ansible Tower to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.

  • Participate in server build and decommission projects, supporting planning, execution, documentation, and handoff activities.

  • Document all operational tasks, incident resolutions, and process improvements within ServiceNow to maintain a high-quality knowledge base.

  • Adapt proactively to shifting organizational priorities, taking on additional responsibilities as the business evolves.
