Do you love building relationships and solving people problems? Reporting to the Director, HR Business Partnership Corporate, the HR Business Partner (HRBP) is a trusted advisor to IT senior leaders and provides advice, guidance, and integration of COE expertise to address complex HR issues for the business. By developing creative solutions, the HRBP enables clients to achieve business objectives and transformation agendas, including employee engagement / experience and workforce planning needs.

About the Role

  • Participates in enterprise-wide annual business planning and transformation processes to assess and plan future workforce needs, including headcount requirements and implications on organizational structure to meet short- and long-term business priorities
  • Drives leaders to embrace innovation and workforce to meet business objectives and deliver on KPIs. Collective agreement compliance must be maintained for BU talent.
  • Consults, recommends, influences, and enables transition to creative org design solutions that complement workforce planning strategies, meets business needs, and drives organizational transformation initiatives.
  • Interprets and applies legislative and collective agreement (CA) obligations, as well as LCBO’s labour relations framework to provide guidance on workforce planning, org design, talent management, and change management
  • Advises leadership on labour relations best practices and the implications of the CA to mitigate risk
  • Collaborates with HR Centres of Excellence (COE) to execute programming and strategies that enable LCBO’s Strategic Plan and People Strategy and enhance the employee experience.
  • Creates a culture of feedback and continuous improvement in client divisions to earn trust and influence, and enable transparency
  • Advises/coaches’ clients on change opportunities, requirements, and strategies to realize the People Strategy and business objectives

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in HR, Business, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible and related experience in Human Resources, including workforce planning, talent management, change management, organizational design, and labour/employee relations
  • Experience coaching and consulting IT leaders about HR matters
  • Experience in a unionized environment, preferably in an IT and/or Corporate environment.
  • Experience in thinking strategically, executing tactically, and collaborating across many teams and levels
  • Ability to manage expectations of, and strategically support, high volume of multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge and experience of the IT context and its intricacies and critical success factors
  • An ability to communicate persuasively with clients and peers
  • Holds a track record of challenging and evolving HR processes that are not adding value
