THE ROLE

The FP&A Analyst supports the Finance & Accounting team by providing accurate financial reporting, analysis, budgeting support, and business insights. The role focuses on validating and presenting financial and operational data, identifying key performance drivers, and helping business leaders make informed decisions.

The FP&A Analyst will work closely with Finance, Accounting, Sales, Operations, and Service teams while developing a strong understanding of the company’s business drivers and financial performance.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, validate, and distribute monthly financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
  • Analyze sales, orders, margins, labour, and profitability to identify key trends and business drivers.
  • Reconcile Sales and COGS data to General Ledger balances.
  • Support annual sales, margin, and departmental budgeting processes.
  • Prepare and maintain budget and forecasting files.
  • Analyze project, manufacturing, and service profitability.
  • Prepare labour and service profitability analyses by technician, customer, supplier, and other key areas.
  • Track major project profitability through revenue and cost analysis.
  • Prepare landed cost reviews and investigate significant variances.
  • Provide analysis related to freight, duty, margins, and other commercial factors.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial and operational data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, automation, data quality, and analytical processes.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Sales, Operations, and Service teams to provide timely analytical support.
  • Participate in business reviews and present financial insights when required.
  • Respond to internal stakeholder requests and provide relevant updates in a timely manner.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • University degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or business analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with financial analysis and budgeting.
  • Working knowledge of corporate accounting principles and financial management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and software.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) ERP.
  • Experience with Tableau or other Business Intelligence tools.
  • Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Working toward a professional accounting designation such as CPA.
  • Experience with financial reporting automation and dashboard development.
  • Experience analyzing sales, margins, labour, service, or project profitability.
  • Experience supporting forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Strong interest in continuous improvement and process optimization.
