What You’ll Do:

Reporting to the Manager, Margin Accounting, this role provides unique exposure to the financial drivers behind enterprise margin results and key business initiatives. As part of a dynamic accounting team, you will play an important role in ensuring the accurate accounting and reporting of revenue and cost of sales while partnering with teams across the organization. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with complex systems and data transactions, solving problems, and understanding how the business activities impact the financial results.

  • Prepare and analyze significant journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules as part of the monthly close process across a variety of margin areas, including CTR/Party City margin sharing, Dealer in Transit, Petroleum brand fees, Sherwood warranty and other key programs.  

  • Ensure financial results are accurately recorded and compliant with IFRS requirements.

  • Investigate variances, identify trends, and present insights and recommendations to management.

  • Understand, maintain, and enhance accounting models, reconciliations, and reporting processes.

  • Partner with business teams, FP&A, Accounting, and internal and external auditors to support business objectives and reporting requirements.

  • Support audits, new business initiatives, and cross-functional projects.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and drive efficiencies through automation, standardization, and better use of data.

  • Manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Take ownership of issues, investigate root causes, and independently develop practical solutions.

What You Bring:

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • CPA designation (or working towards completion). 

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in a medium/large company at a Financial Analyst/Accountant level with strong IFRS knowledge.

  • Detail oriented with strong diagnostic and analytical skills.

  • Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the “big picture” in a complex business environment, while maintaining attention to detail and a curiosity to understand the drivers behind financial results.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships.

  • Ability to thrive in an environment responsive to changing business requirements.

  • Highly driven with an exceptionally strong work ethic, time management and organization skills.

  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience using Oracle PeopleSoft, HFM, Power BI, Copilot, or similar financial systems is considered an asset.

  • Familiarity with internal and external audit processes is considered an asset.

Location: Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid: In-office 4 days a week)

Broadband Salary Range: $53,000 – $88,000 CAD.
Our typical hiring range is between $53,000 and $70,000. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. For critical roles, the compensation offering will be reviewed to ensure alignment with market rate and conditions and the unique value you bring to the role.
