About the role:

We are on a mission to build a world-class team that drives innovation, growth, and excellence. As we scale rapidly, we are looking for a strategic, analytical Director of Pricing to build and lead a high-performing pricing team while driving pricing strategy and execution for the Sell to Clutch and Vehicle Markets Group. This high-impact role will be responsible for pricing across our acquisition and retail channels to boost profitability, customer conversion, and operational efficiency. You will partner closely with our Data Engineering team to ensure robust data pipelines and analytics power every pricing decision. You’ll work in a data-rich environment—managing pricing and conversion across 10,000+ new offers each week and a weekly-refreshed database of 250,000+ customer offers with current market valuations—and use those insights to design pricing frameworks, reporting structures, and disposition strategies that move company performance and competitiveness.

What you’ll do: 

  • Price Optimization Strategy: Develop and continuously refine pricing algorithms and offer-optimization tactics to maximize conversion rates across high-volume acquisition and retail channels.
  • Build & Lead Pricing Team: Hire, mentor, and manage a cross-functional team of pricing analysts and data scientists, fostering a culture of analytical rigor, experimentation, and rapid iteration.
  • Acquisition & Retail Pricing Matrix: Design and maintain a pricing matrix that accounts for forecasted spread, expected days to sell, reconditioning costs, and predicted margin to maximize profitability at both acquisition and retail stages.
  • Executive Reporting: Produce and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly pricing performance dashboards and insights to executive leadership.
  • Inventory Mix & Capital Exposure: Recommend optimal inventory composition and dollar exposure levels to balance risk, liquidity, and sales velocity.

What we’re looking for: 

  • Education: Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 5+ years in quantitative trading, investment banking, or pricing
  • Demonstrated expertise in forecasting, margin modeling, and pricing-elasticity analysis
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-caliber analytical team
  • Strong command of Excel, SQL, and data-visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau)
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills for executive-level audiences
