Some of what you will do:

The Senior Director, B2B Pricing, Margin and Bid Management will lead the development, planning and execution of our business-to-business (B2B) pricing strategy for Enterprise and Mid-Market customers across Canada. This includes the management of RFPs, RFQs, contracts, pricing programs, cost claims, rebates and margin improvement for all Staples B2B prospects & customers. This position leads to the administration and collection of Vendor Rebate Program and cost claims. This position collaborates with the Sales, Merchandising and Finance teams daily to drive improvements in profitability and successful bid outcomes to grow B2B revenue and margin.  As a member of the Canadian leadership team for Staples B2B, this role contributes to overall company strategy in all facets of B2B operations.

 

Specifically, You Will:

  • Lead all pricing, fee and profit improvement initiatives across all aspects of B2B. 

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies rooted in data and with clear ROI. 

  • Responsible for the creation of industry leading RFP responses inclusive of winning themes, persuasive company content, competitive pricing strategies while partnering with legal and sales teams.

  • Develops online, catalogue & program price strategies for the organization that maximizes profitability and market competitiveness.

  • Oversee all aspects of the contract management and renewal process ensuring that customer prices are aligned with legal and business commitments, vendor cost increases & target profitability.

  • Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of customer rebate payments and accruals.

  • Spearheads the automation and tool development for both Pricing, Bid and Profit Improvement Management. Manages the relationship, product modules and contracts with 3rd party software providers.

 

Some of what you need:

  • University degree in finance, business, commerce or related field.

  • MBA is an asset.

  • Demonstrated understanding of pricing and margin impacts. 

  • Demonstrated success in working within cross functional teams and effective project and changing management skills.

  • 10+ years senior management experience in a pricing and/or profitability role within B2B.

 

Physical demands/working conditions:

  •  Office environment – Hybrid, with 4 days onsite in Richmond Hill, subject to the hybrid policy.

  • This role involves about 5% travel across Canada

  •
