We are growing our Design Operations team at Cash App! The Cash App Design & Creative team works at the intersection of brand and product to shape and choreograph an exceptional customer experience. The Design Program Manager (DPM) role will be embedded in our Operating System organization and our Local workstream, which sits at the intersection of product design, creative, and engineering. You'll work closely with cross-functional leaders to drive design and operational excellence around our new Local initiative which aims to bring together the Cash App and Square ecosystems to engage customers in their local communities.
You Will

  • Partner closely with design, product and engineering leadership to establish and codify key processes, resource planning and strategy, that integrate the Square and Cash App design teams and keep them running efficiently and effectively
  • Influence the project vision and direction based on planning or organizational variables
  • Ensure the teams are on track, facilitate decision-making, resolve blockers and surface challenges
  • Streamline communications to ensure information and knowledge is flowing freely
  • Proactively assess and de-escalate risks, gleaning early signals for when a project or team is headed off track and quickly taking action before an issue arises
  • Enable continuous improvement during the project, ensuring takeaways are captured, shared, and coordinated
  • Coordinate project/program reviews, planning sessions, offsites and other team events
  • Partner with Head of Design Operations to drive clarity and transparency for your program work; create effective tracking systems and processes that scale with the rest of the Design organization


You Have

  • 8-10+ years experience in program or project management within a product design organization and/or creative agency
  • Extensive knowledge of the inner-workings of product, design and engineering teams, and can confidently think like, reason with, and proxy for a design leader as a DesignOps practitioner
  • Experience leading large, complex, and cross-functional programs that sit at the intersection of product design, engineering and creative production
  • Passion for owning and driving best practices for design teams and work that improves cross functional ways of working
  • Comfort feed-backing to senior design and cross-functional leaders, and proven critical thinking, and leadership abilities
  • The skills to gather and synthesize information, and can confidently communicate across teams and levels across the organization
  • Flexibility and adaptability, and can use your judgment to apply the model and approach that best fit with the context of the program and the needs of the team
