Job Description

Come join our growing project management team and contribute to our success in developing our expertise within CIMA+. We are currently recruiting a Cost Controller to work for a major complex project. For this position, you will be working daily (5 days) directly in the office project site, which is in Mississauga.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage cost reporting with accurate and timely information of budget, commitments, forecast, trends, variances, progress, performance, risk and opportunity, contingency, and cashflow
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of program risks during execution, work closely with Program Controls to optimize contingency strategies
  • Monitor costs against agreed-upon budgets, schedules, and contractual deliverables within and across large and mission-critical projects
  • Monitor the statistical and trends analysis of contracts and payout of contracts
  • Conduct the review and audit of non-contract costs, labour and expense reports, and submittal of adjustments to finance to ensure complete and accurate information
  • Perform Earned Value Management including the provision of analysis and management reports to summarize and explain key variances
  • Coach, mentor, and support the career development of employee

Additional Information

  • Recognized degree in quantity surveying, cost and commercial management, project management, or any relevant field
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in cost management, cost control, quantity surveying, or project accounting within large infrastructure programs
  • Experience in cost control, financial analysis, risk management and reporting principles and practices in large, complex multibillion-dollar and multi-project construction and infrastructure environments
  • Experience in implementing and operating Earned Value Management (EVM) in large infrastructure programs
  • Experience in cost reporting and the integration of cost information from across the program to create consolidated program-level cost reports
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other cost management software tools and applications to document and illustrate cost performance
