What you'll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Enterprise Technology team . You’ll be hands on with all aspects of the systems testing process and provide suggestions that will ensure client needs are met with the highest quality. As a Consultant of Quality Assurance, you’ll be a team lead on CIBC’s Technology team, assigning and overseeing the execution of test cases and providing coaching to your team members. You’ll create test plans, develop strategies, and provide estimates that will help create the bank of the future.

How you'll succeed

  • Testing expertise – Lead the investigation and translation of business requirements into test cases. Design and manage end-to-end testing activities for various projects across the business. Use your expertise in software development testing to provide clients with quality products that meet business and system requirements.

  • Leadership skills – Provide advice to your team, including ongoing feedback, support, and mentorship. Proactively identify any potential issues throughout all test phases, and suggest possible improvements or enhancements.

  • Project coordination – Identify obstacles or risks that may impact a project’s timeline or success and provide regular status updates to the business. Keep the lines of communication open with stakeholders, and escalate issues when necessary. Ensure that all test deliverables are received, approved, and aligned to your project’s timeline, budget and goals.

Who You Are

  • You have strong knowledge in Oracle PL/SQL, Azure and Basics of UNIX shell scripting & Python, Scala, Java, Azure DevOps etc. and Cloud related Technologies such as Azure Cloud Services, Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Blob etc. Nice to have experience with SQL and Oracle databases and Cosmos DB, test plans, test scripting, application architecture, multiple IT platforms, systems and software and working the SDLC.  

  • You have 6+ years of experience in Application / Software design, engineering, testing and development with a solid understanding of design patterns and principles. 

  • It's nice if you have 2 or more years of testing cloud experience preferably on Azure, or AWS, GCP, or others.  

  • Previous experience with Apache Spark development, Scala programming language, functional programming concepts, and data streaming. 

  • You have strong knowledge of data centric applications, Data Warehousing, Data Marts, and traditional Extract, Transform, & Load (ETL) systems and tools, however, are more aligned to software and application development, not bound to specific tools, but excited to build the tools. 

  • You have experience with git and modern branching/merging strategies and development methodologies, including DevOps, CI/CD, automated unit testing, static code analysis, Sonar Cube, with passion for quality and automation.
