About the role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Solutions Consultant to drive sales and support solution development for network cabling projects. This role combines business development with hands-on technical involvement, including conducting site surveys, scoping work requirements, and preparing cost estimations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying opportunities, engaging clients, assessing on-site requirements, and translating those needs into accurate proposals and estimates. This is a field-focused role that requires regular travel to customer locations, along with sometime in the office to collaborate with internal teams on delivery.
We are looking for a professional who can hit the ground running, leverage existing industry relationships, and independently manage opportunities from initial client engagement through solution proposals.
This is a sales-driven role. The compensation listed reflects the base salary, with additional commission earned based on sales performance, forming the total compensation package.

Key Responsibilities:
- Drive business development and sales for network cabling and infrastructure solutions.
- Conduct on-site surveys to assess technical requirements and define scope of work.
- Scope projects on-site, including identifying materials, labor, timelines, and technical considerations.
- Prepare detailed cost estimations and proposals based on site assessments.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities using existing client relationships and market networks.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the pre-sales and proposal phase.
- Collaborate with technical and operations teams to ensure feasibility and successful project delivery.
- Maintain accurate documentation of site assessments, estimates, and project requirements.
- Balance field visits with in-office coordination, reporting, and team collaboration.
- Meet or exceed defined sales and revenue targets.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in network cabling, structured cabling, or infrastructure solutions sales
- Demonstrated hands-on experience conducting site surveys, scoping work, and preparing project estimations
- Strong understanding of cabling infrastructure, installation practices, and project costing
- Established network of clients or industry contacts that can be leveraged for business development
- Ability to independently assess project requirements and translate them into accurate proposals
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail in estimation and planning
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills
- Self-driven, organized, and comfortable working in a field-based role
