Our challenge
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst to join the Shared Services & IT group within the Technology & Operations (T&O) – Investor Services division. This role will focus on partnering with business, operations, and technology teams to drive initiatives across investor services platforms, with an emphasis on data management, operational efficiency, and system enhancements.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD $110k – CAD $130k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, operations teams, and technology partners to gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.
- Work closely with development and QA teams to support solution design, development, and implementation.
- Drive requirements workshops, stakeholder discussions, and backlog grooming sessions within an Agile environment.
- Analyze current state processes and identify opportunities for optimization, automation, and improved data flows.
- Support system integration efforts across upstream/downstream applications within Investor Services.
- Assist in UAT planning, execution, and defect resolution.
- Ensure compliance with governance, risk, and regulatory standards within a regulated banking environment.
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to facilitate clear communication and aligned delivery.
Requirements:
- 7–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst within Financial Services.
- Strong domain knowledge in Capital Markets, Investor Services, Asset Management, Custody, or Fund Services.
- Proven experience working on data-driven projects and system integration initiatives.
- Expertise in requirements gathering, BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process mapping.
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum methodologies.
- Solid understanding of data flows, data analysis, and reporting mechanisms.
- Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and SQL (preferred).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience within large financial institutions.
- Exposure to trade lifecycle, custody operations, fund accounting, or investor reporting.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks within banking.
- Experience supporting digital transformation or platform modernization initiatives.
