We’re looking for a talented Business Systems Analysis (BSA) teammate who has experience in the e-Transfer (bank-to-bank networks). Reporting to the Practice Leader of the BSA team, you’ll partner with a talented team of BSAs who will play a critical role in delivering modernizations, enhancements, and new product launches across the Interac ecosystem. You’ll be part of the delivery of high-quality system requirements that support strategic business goals, cross-functional alignment, and a culture of continuous improvement.
What You Will Do:
Experience partnering with Payments Canada, e.g., Elaboration, maintaining document and validating functional and non-functional system re
Passion and understanding of the nuances involved in bank-to-bank modernization solutions
Adopting, implementing and operationalising best practices with the goal of great customer systems (JIRA board) and ensuring sync of the internal Interac approach
Good understanding of ISO 20022 Payment file formats
Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools, e.g., SQL, Power BI
Comfortable with Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence); user management, site creation, project creation, workflow
Eliciting, documenting and validating functional and non-functional system requirements in collaboration with business clients, end users and project stakeholders
Performing analysis of new technologies and standards in money movement / bank-to-bank networks and the impacts on Interac solutions
Collaborating in the planning, designing, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications
Performing requirements coverage and impact analysis through traceability of system requirements to business requirements, solution and test cases
Collaborating with external vendors and internal IT teams during their development phase and providing clarity on requirements and specifications
Partnering the certification and testing teams by providing interpretation of business functions and specifications
Balancing the needs of various product/project delivery methodologies depending on the approach of the team(s)
Facilitating with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to identify and resolve systems issues and identify appropriate changes required
Supporting project management processes during the project life cycle
Onboarding projects and supporting the team in client engagement and clarifying requirements
Ensuring the release management process for internal delivery of application and system changes into production and FI environments
Supporting Operations in production issues and other implementation problem resolutions
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Systems, or a related field—or equivalent experience
5-10 years’ experience in a Business Systems Analyst role
Confident working with ISO 8583 and ISO 20022 standards
Knowledge of Payments Canada’s settlement streams (AFT, LVTS, etc.)
Comfortable driving various requirements elicitation techniques for an established project (Interviews, prototypes, workshops, systems flow, business flows and process flows)
Experience using requirements definitions and management tools
Ability to lead different requirements methodologies (Use Cases, Unified Modelling Language, etc.)
Experience working successfully in an environment involving multiple stakeholders with competing objectives
Knowledge of financial services and online and mobile payment technologies (debit and/or credit)
Experience with UML, BPMN or other Visual Modeling notations.
Knowledge of chip contact and contactless card payments processing (EMV)
Working experience with Canadian Payment systems and knowledge of the payments ecosystem: Point of Sale devices (POS), banking machines (ABMs) and various host systems (Acquirer and Issuer)
Agile, Scrum, Iterative Waterfall Development foundational knowledge is an asset
Comfortable with fraud prevention or cybersecurity domains (nice to have)
Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity

The hiring range for this position is $90,000 to $105,000, and you will also be eligible for our short-term incentive plan. The exact amount will depend on factors such as skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, but Interac’s commitment goes beyond compensation.
