Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is currently seeking an Analyst to join our Equity Capital Markets group in Toronto. This role sits at the intersection of investment banking and capital markets, focused on ECM origination,  pitching, and advisory. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong analytical skills, and demonstrates a keen interest in the financial markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial analysis, valuation, and market research to inform transaction strategy and pricing;
  • Prepare marketing and pitch materials including transaction rationales, market updates, precedent transaction analysis, and capital structure alternatives;
  • Monitor equity market conditions, fund flows, and investor sentiment to assist in structuring new issues;
  • Support client coverage efforts, including preparation for management meetings, boardlevel presentations, and strategic capital markets discussions;
  • Coordinate due diligence processes and assist in drafting offering documents;
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders including sector coverage teams, sales & trading, and equity research;
  • Maintain internal materials and databases relevant to ECM activity.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Completion of a university degree in a business-related discipline;
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant finance experience in a similar role;
  • Solid quantitative skills including strong financial modeling skills;
  • Strong analytical ability and written communication skills;
  • Resourceful, diligent and strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
