Job Description
The Toronto Raptors are seeking an experienced and relationship-driven Alumni Program Manager to develop, lead and grow the Toronto Raptors’ Alumni Program. This role will be responsible for creating an exceptional experience for former Raptors players while strengthening lifelong connections between alumni, the organization, fans and community partners.
Reporting to the Vice President of Basketball Operations, the Alumni Program Manager will establish the long-term vision and strategy for the program, manage alumni relationships, and lead the planning and execution of alumni events, appearances and travel. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, service-oriented professional with experience working with elite athletes and delivering premium experiences.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop, oversee and continuously evolve the Toronto Raptors Alumni Program.
- Partner with leadership to define the long-term alumni strategy, annual priorities and program roadmap.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with former Raptors players, their families and representatives, serving as the primary point of contact.
- Navigate complex or sensitive alumni matters with sound judgment, empathy and discretion, balancing individual needs with organizational priorities and established program guidelines.
- Create meaningful year-round engagement opportunities that strengthen alumni connections to the Raptors organization.
- Lead planning and execution of all alumni events, appearances and special initiatives, ensuring a best-in-class experience.
- Coordinate all alumni travel, including itineraries, accommodations, transportation, scheduling and on-site logistics.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Basketball Operations, Marketing, Community Impact, Partnerships, Events, Communications, Legal, Finance and Hospitality and the NBAPA to deliver seamless alumni experiences.
- Develop and maintain organized systems for alumni communications, profiles, preferences and engagement history.
- Manage program budgets, vendors and operational timelines while ensuring exceptional attention to detail.
- Proactively identify mutually beneficial opportunities that align alumni interests and strengths with organization priorities (including fan day engagement, community initiatives, corporate partnerships and business development), while protecting the authenticity of the alumni relationship.
- Measure program success through engagement metrics, feedback and continuous program improvements.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in player development, VIP hospitality or client management, preferably within professional sports.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with high-profile individuals while exercising discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Exceptional project management, organizational and event execution skills.
- Experience coordinating complex travel and logistics for executives, athletes or VIP guests.
- Strong customer service mindset with a passion for creating memorable experiences.
- Highly collaborative with the ability to influence and work effectively across multiple departments.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and travel as required.
