Job Description

We are looking for a Yard Supervisor to join our team in Sudbury, Ontario! You will play a crucial role in maintaining productivity while fostering a safe and organized work environment.

What you're responsible for: 

  • Organizing and coordinating daily yard activities to ensure efficiency
  • Assigning tasks to yard employees and monitoring workflow to meet daily operational goals
  • Providing hands on support and guidance to team members
  • Ensuring materials are sorted, processed and handled properly
  • Motivating and encouraging employees to maintain productivity
  • Communicating expectations and ensuring tasks are carried out accordingly
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and identifying opportunities for improvement

Qualifications

To join our team:

  • You have a minimum 2 years experience as a Supervisor
  • You have previous experience in a recycling, industrial, construction or manufacturing environment
  • You have previous experience with heavy equipment (forklift, loader, etc) is an asset
  • You have strong leadership and problem solving skills, and the ability to make quick decisions 
  • You have hands-on experience with yard equipment, material handing, or heavy machinery
  • You are comfortable working in a physically demanding and fact-paced environment
  • You are comfortable working outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions
