Named as one of the country's top growing companies, Caravel Law is a mid-size, national, and innovative Law Firm, that has pioneered and led the overhaul of legal services in Canada. To help support our rapid growth across the country, we are seeking a VP of Sales.

What will you be doing?
We are seeking a top-performing sales leader who can use their strategic selling and relationship-building skills to expand Caravel Law’s client base and business development team. With dual reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer and Caravel’s leadership team, the VP of Sales will drive consistent revenue growth at the firm by coaching the team members to their career best while also establishing strategic relationships with new and existing clients. Success requires coaching the team and following our sales process in a repeatable manner and partnering with Caravel’s ecosystem including firm management, Marketing, Client Success and Caravel’s team of lawyers.
What will you bring to the role?

  • Coach team members to consistently meet new client acquisition goals. 
  • Partner with firm leadership on Caravel’s go to market strategy including codification of Unique Value Proposition (UVP), target accounts and key buying personas.
  • Prospect and close new business based on our Ideal Client Profile (ICP) with focused sales to General Counsels at target accounts. 
  • Collaborate with marketing on top of the funnel activities to drive Marketing Qualified Leads (MQL) for the business development team to pursue.
  • Evangelize Caravel’s services and our UVP within the legal services industry.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge regarding the changing legal landscape and issues faced by our potential clients.
  • Hold weekly check-ins with team members to ensure that activity metrics are being met and to provide ongoing coaching.
  • Conduct regular observations of team members to provide feedback and to share best practices across the team.
  • Submit accurate and timely forecasts.
  • Ensure that the team is accurately updating data in our CRM. 


Key Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years as a successful sales leader demonstrating the ability to successfully grow teams and exceed business objectives.
  • A minimum of 10 years selling to C-Level Executives and/or Legal Departments with a proven track record of exceeding quota.
  • A bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree (MBA or JD) a plus.
  • Experience selling professional services to an executive team and/or a corporate legal department required. 
  • General knowledge of legal services is required.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to serve in a player coach role and book business directly while coaching the team. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to create, execute and monitor a business development plan making adjustments as opportunities present themselves. 
  • Outstanding interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
  • Specific system experience is a plus: HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Pirical and Microsoft Suite.
  • Effective presentation, organization, and time management skills.
  • A collaborative leader who can thrived in a matrixed organization and partner effectively with Marketing, the firm’s lawyers and management.
  • High energy and a positive can-do attitude with excellent customer-focus and appreciation for serving as a brand ambassador for the organization.
  • The ability to travel on limited basis.
