One of Canada’s Most Trusted Investment Brands.

At Picton Mahoney Asset Management (PICTON Investments)being alternative isn’t just what we do—it’s who we are.

Founded by industry pioneer David Picton, we’ve spent over 20 years challenging conventional wisdom and redefining the investing landscape. As one of Canada’s most trusted investment brands, we are proudly independent—privately run, 100% employee-owned, and deeply committed to delivering results for our clients.

Thinking Alternatively is in Our DNA

With a team of 241 bold thinkers—one-third dedicated solely to investment management—we are specialists, not generalists. Managing $19.6 billion (June 30, 2026) for institutional and retail clients, we navigate markets with conviction, resilience, and a forward-thinking approach.

We’re more than investors — we’re innovators. We challenge traditional investment mindsets, constantly pushing the boundaries to achieve our mission: To bring greater certainty to investors.

Our success is built on four guiding principles:

  • Treat investors’ money like our own.
  • Redefine the way investors invest.
  • Be human—always approachable.
  • Succeed together, one investment at a time.

These aren’t just words—they define how we think, how we invest, and how we work.

Now, we’re entering our next chapter. We’re transforming our brand and reshaping the way the world invests. If you think alternatively, embrace an entrepreneurial spirit, and thrive in a dynamic, bureaucracy-free environment, join us and be part of what’s next.

Thriving in Our Entrepreneurial Culture

At PICTON Investments, you’ll thrive in our creative and dynamic workplace, where collaboration and support are at the core of everything we do. At our firm, you’ll have the opportunity to take on significant responsibilities, work in a flexible environment, and tackle challenging projects from the outset. Our culture is designed for ambitious professionals who want to make an immediate impact while continuing to push boundaries and achieve our greater mission. You’ll be empowered with a high level of responsibility, trust, and flexibility, providing an exciting and creative space for you to help reshape how the world views alternative investments. With competitive total rewards, performance-based bonuses, and a clear path for career growth, you’ll have everything you need to develop both now and over the longer term.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to senior leadership, the VP, Corporate Development will be at the center of PICTON's strategic and M&A agenda. Reporting into the Chief Growth Officer, this is a high-impact, cross-functional role where you evaluate opportunities, build the financial architecture behind strategic decisions, and partner with business leaders across the firm.

For someone with a strong capital markets and corporate finance foundation, this role offers direct exposure to firm-wide strategy, meaningful cross-functional partnerships, and the chance to do work that shapes how the business grows. You will operate in a lean, high-ownership environment where strong analytical thinking and sound judgment are valued over process and hierarchy.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate M&A opportunities and strategic partnerships in the asset management and wealth spaces, including financial modeling, due diligence, and executive-level presentations
  • Build and maintain a coverage list of Alternative Asset Managers (public and private), Long Only Managers, and Investment Counselling Firms
  • Support corporate finance initiatives including budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial planning
  • Prepare and analyze financial models, management reporting, and executive presentations
  • Coordinate and manage through and meaningful Due Diligence Processes on M&A targets with internal teams and external professionals
  • Partner with business lines, including investment management, Second Engine, HR, and Marketing, to build materials for M&A targets
  • Support capital allocation analysis, fee analysis, and revenue modeling across business segments
  • Contribute to regulatory and investor reporting processes as required
  • Identify and implement process improvements across finance and reporting workflows

What You Bring

  • A growth mindset, we are not a sleepy asset manager; we operate more like a fintech
  • 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in corporate finance, FP&A, investment banking, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in or direct exposure to the wealth management or asset management industry, a strong differentiator
  • CPA, MBA, or CFA designation (completed or in progress) is a significant asset
  • Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel is required
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex financial information for senior audiences
  • High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving, results-oriented environment
