We have been providing a wide range of services to the nuclear industry in Canada and around the world since for more than 60 years.  We are proud to be the steward of Canadian CANDU nuclear technology and to apply our extensive knowledge to support the emerging area of new CANDU reactor builds and new SMR reactor builds.  Our expertise includes: Nuclear Steam Plant (NSP) engineering, Balance of Plant (BOP) engineering, Plant Life Management and Extension, Retube Tooling Systems, Inspection and Maintenance Services, Steam Generator Replacement, Plant Equipment Refurbishment and Retrofits.

The Vice President of Digital Solutions will report to the Senior Vice President of Operations (TPO) and will be responsible for all software tools & configurations, hardware, cyber-security, and related digital infrastructure for the Candu Energy business unit. The VP of Digital Solutions will collaborate closely with corporate digital and IT functions and must be both an expert in their field and possess a strategic and transformative vision for the future of the Candu business.  The Candu business unit is a highly regulated, security-controlled environment with hundreds of interconnected software applications, automations and even self-developed software applications that are used for regulated and safety-critical nuclear analyses.  This role requires a high degree of technical understanding along with team leadership capabilities and an vision for innovation and improvement.  It also requires a high degree of collaboration with various stakeholders including customers, internal departments, corporate teams and software and hardware vendors. 

This role will be based in Mississauga, ON.

Your role within the team:

  • Develop long-term strategic vision for the Candu business unit as it relates to our overall digital infrastructure
  • Lead the team of digital professionals who create, maintain, configure and upgrade our software solutions for the business unit and for specific projects.
  • Negotiate with software vendors and develop strategies to minimize licensing costs while maximizing efficient use of best-in-class tools for the Candu Business unit
  • Oversee the management, maintenance, configuration and relevance of all software tools, hardware, cyber-security measures, and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with corporate digital and IT functions to ensure seamless integration and support for the Candu business unit.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for digital solutions that enhance operational efficiency and drive innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant cyber-security protocols and standards.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives for the Candu Energy business unit, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and goals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the digital solutions team.

The ideal candidate:

  • 10+ years of experience in digital solutions, IT management, or related fields.
  • Experience in EPC projects with deep understanding of various EPC functions including Engineering, 3D modeling, Supply chain, project controls, construction managing and commissioning.
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role, managing teams and projects.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or similar degree
  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills.
  • In-depth understanding of software tools, hardware, cyber-security, and infrastructure management.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and customer relationship skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with corporate functions and other business units.
  • Proven ability to innovate and drive transformative change.
