Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Derivatives & Markets, we are seeking a Trading Analyst to join Brookfield Wealth Solutions Global Derivative and Markets team. This is a front-office role with broad exposure to FX and rates markets, derivative instruments, trading counterparties, and internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will support the team with trade structuring and execution, trade booking and lifecycle management, market analysis, derivatives systems, data and file management, and reporting, while helping ensure the trading function operates efficiently and accurately.

The role is well suited to someone who has developed a foundational understanding of FX and interest rate markets and is looking to deepen their markets and derivatives expertise in a hands-on trading environment.

Responsibilities

Trading & Execution Support

  • Execution of FX and interest rate transactions across relevant products and markets.
  • Assist with pre-trade preparation, including gathering market levels, reviewing pricing, and coordinating execution requirements.
  • Engage with banks and other trading counterparties to obtain pricing, market colour, and relevant execution information.
  • Accurate and timely trade capture and booking across internal trading and derivatives systems.
  • Support ongoing management of the hedge portfolio, including rebalancing, roll strategy, restructuring, as well as collateral and liquidity management
  • Monitor executed transactions and work with relevant teams to resolve trade booking, confirmation, settlement, or other lifecycle issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to trading activity.

Modelling and analytics

  • Model derivatives trades and structures to support pricing, hedge design, and investment decisions
  • Build and maintain desk tools for pricing, position data, and analysis
  • Assist with models for stress testing and scenario analysis
  • Assist with pricing new investments and insurance/reinsurance transactions

Markets & Analytics

  • Monitor FX and interest rate markets, including spot and forward markets, yield curves, central bank developments, economic data, and other relevant market drivers.
  • Assist the team with market analysis and preparation of materials to support trading and risk-management decisions.
  • Develop and maintain market data, pricing, exposure, and trading-related analytics.
  • Produce regular and ad hoc reporting on trading activity, market developments, exposures, execution, and other relevant metrics.
  • Build familiarity with the valuation and risk characteristics of FX and rates derivatives and continue developing technical knowledge of relevant products.

Systems, Data & Process Management

  • Support the effective use and maintenance of trading, derivatives, market data, and risk-management systems.
  • Maintain trading files, market data, transaction records, and other front-office information in an accurate and organized manner.
  • Assist with data validation, reconciliations, and investigation of discrepancies across front-office systems and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline trading workflows, reporting, and data management.

Stakeholder Management

  • Develop effective working relationships with a broad range of internal stakeholders, including Risk, Operations, Treasury, Finance, Legal, Technology, and other investment and business teams.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with external counterparties, including bank salespeople, traders, and other market participants.
  • Coordinate across teams to resolve time-sensitive trading, booking, systems, and operational matters.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, responsiveness, and judgment are important.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in financial markets, ideally within a trading, markets, treasury, investment management, banking, or related environment.
  • Foundational understanding of foreign exchange and interest rate markets and the key factors that drive them.
  • Familiarity with relevant derivative instruments, which may include FX spot, forwards, swaps, options, interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps, and other FX and rates derivatives.
  • Experience with trading, derivatives, risk-management, or market data systems is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of full trade lifecycle events including booking, valuation, settlement, and reporting
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, with a high level of proficiency in Excel and an ability to work comfortably with financial and market data.
  • Experience with Bloomberg and/or similar market information platforms is preferred.
  • Exposure to Python, VBA, SQL, or other data and automation tools would be an asset but is not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000

Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
