  • Salary Range: $22.40 - $37.41 per hour (depending on completed hours)
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace
  • Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior
  • Conduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct
  • Adhere to applicable quality systems, IATF16949 standards, ISO14001 awareness and adherence
  • Adhere to and promote the Employee Charter and work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Deco Employee Handbook
  • Initiate and embrace company change
  • Comply and participate with the Company's Continuous Improvement program.
  • Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards
  • Perform other duties as required Perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with Section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Industrial Establishments.

Other Tasks:
  • Support and work with Tool & Die Makers
  • Maintain a suitable grade point average while attending school
  • Regularly purchase or obtain the required tools and equipment to do the job
  • To maintain a safe and neat work environment
  • Follow instructions, written and verbal from Tool Makers
  • Attend any training courses deemed suitable by the Toolroom Supervisor
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and workplace safety.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Possesses proven organization and leadership skills
  • Proven skills at trouble shooting tool and die, in a production environment
  • Works effectively with minimal supervision
  • Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines on a timely basis
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with information, files and records that are confidential and must not be divulged without the consent of management
  • Uses teamwork skills to work co-operatively with all departments as well as fellow employees
  • Consistently uses strong attention to detail and judgment skills when making decisions related to the tooling process, quality and the observance of personnel.
  • Works outside of assigned shift hours when necessary

Job Requirements:
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent and work experience
  • Basic blueprint reading
  • Minimum one year machining experience
  • Self-Motivated
  • General knowledge of shop safety practices
  • Physically capable of performing the essential duties of the job
  • A working knowledge (written & verbal) or both English and Mathematics,
  • Proficient in the use of measuring tools as well as basic Toolroom equipment
  • Must be able to work all 3 shifts.
