Position Overview 

Multimatic’s Test Department is looking for a Test Engineer to support the development and validation of new product. In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate components and full vehicle systems, contributing directly to how products perform in real-world conditions. 

You’ll be part of a team that support Multimatic’s full product portfolio through durability, performance, environmental, NVH, and material testing to confirm that designs meet functional, reliability, and customer requirements. Individual responsibilities will focus on specific disciplines and technologies, with opportunities to build expertise in defined areas while contributing to the broader validation effort across the team. 

This position is well suited for someone who takes a hands-on approach to engineering and enjoys working directly with hardware, instrumentation, and test systems to solve technical challenges. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the planning and execution of test programs to validate the functional, performance, and reliability of automotive systems 

  • Prepare and conduct testing by setting up, configuring, and calibrating required equipment and instrumentation 

  • Design and develop test fixtures and systems to support testing activities, where required 

  • Analyze test data, identify issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical problems 

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of test methods and procedures to enhance efficiency and data quality 

  • Document and communicate test methods, results, and observations to support decision-making and knowledge sharing 

  • This posting is for the day, evening, and weekend shift. Shifts are fixed, and employees do not rotate between shifts. Candidates should be prepared to discuss their shift preference during the interview process. 

  • Day shift is Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Evening shift is Monday-Thursday from 2:00 PM to 12:30 AM
  • Weekend shift is Friday-Monday from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM
  • All shifts are salary positions based on a 40-hour work week; start and end times are typical and not fixed
  • Evening and Weekend Shifts are eligible for a shift premium on top of base salary

 Education and Experience:

  • College or university degree in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, mechatronics, or automotive engineering).

  • 1-3 years of experience in automotive testing, co-op/internship acceptable

  • Solid understanding of automotive systems, components, and test methodologies.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, customers, and suppliers.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced team environment.

Experience in one or more of the following areas will be considered an asset: 

  • Experience with data acquisition (DAQ) systems, including associated transducers and instrumentation

  • Background in component and system-level testing and validation (mechanical and/or electrical)

  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, including signal processing techniques (time-domain and frequency-domain analysis, filtering), using tools such as Excel, Siemens Testlab, NI DIAdem, and MATLAB

  • Familiarity with measurement system analysis, including Gauge R&R and statistical process control (SPC).

  • Experience with configuring and operating test control systems and software, such as MTS MPT, MTS RPC, LabVIEW, and dSPACE

  • Working knowledge of control systems, including pneumatic, servo-hydraulic, and electric test systems.

  • Experience with 3D CAD modelling, engineering drawings (GD&T), and tolerance stack-ups

This job posting is for an existing vacancy. The total cash compensation range for this position is expected to be:

$57,658.00 - $107,000.00
