Job Summary
This is a highly focused sales hunter role, serving a broad range of furniture retailers and mattress specialty shops within the Kitchener-Waterloo/Guelph and surrounding regions. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling, marketing, training, merchandising and customer service of Tempur Sealy’s product lines for both national accounts and independent dealers. You are a team player with high levels of business acumen, integrity and love a challenge. You thrive on hard work, you have long-term goals and an aggressive professional attitude towards sales development and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • To provide an ongoing program of primary and refresher product knowledge training to all retailers with the goal of achieving year over year sales growth and total customer satisfaction;
  • To provide guidance and assistance to ensure that each retail store is merchandised exactly to standard;
  • Communicate to the store sales and management team all relevant information regarding merchandise and marketing direction to support sell through;
  • It is vital that you build strong business relationships with all retail store staff;
  • Analyzes territory growth and profit-improvement opportunities and develops a master sales plan of advertising, merchandising, promotion and sales training programs to enhance our client’s market share and profitability in the territory;
  • Conducts sales associate training, and institutes floor sales incentive programs to maximize the sales time commitment to our client’s brand(s) by floor sales personnel;
  • Resolves customer service problems and personally works with the production personnel to ensure a high level of service is provided to each customer on a cost-effective basis;
  • Regularly reviews territory performance, identifies opportunities to enhance share and profits with the designated territory, while working collaboratively with the Regional Sales Manager to develop merchandising and other promotional programs that improve our client’s product assortment and position in the market;
  • Utilize sales training tools with the purpose of implementing one shared product knowledge training program;
  • Provides a continuous resource for product knowledge questions and answers virtually via phone, video conference, email;
  • Conducts store visit frequency standards will be as outlined by the Regional Sales Manager/Director and/or the National Account Managers/Director;
  • Undertakes customer service, warranty claims as required;
  • Review current or upcoming advertising, pricing or merchandise initiatives with the staff;
  • Manages all territory spiffs, contests or other business incentive programs;
  • Ability to travel within the designated territory boundaries no less than 75% of the time.
  • Capacity to travel overnight regionally, nationally and internationally (Regionally up to 25%);
  • You own a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license (A criminal record Check and copy of a clean driver's abstract may be requested);
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • The successful incumbent will have a minimum of 5 years business related experience in a B2B Sales or Account Manager role;
  • No less than 5 years success as a Sales Hunter;
  • A University Degree;
  • Ability to travel overnight;
  • Own reliable vehicle.

Required Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office with specific focus on Excel, Teams and Outlook;
  • Ability to work independently while operating from a home office;
  • Be self-motivated, self-directed and self-managed;
  • Ability to analyze high levels of finical data within Excel and present to clients as in both educational and business case formats;
  • Furniture or Mattress experience is a definite asset;
