Corteva Agriscience is seeking a Technical Sales Summer Intern.

What You’ll Do:

This position will complement your formal education by providing a broad overview of opportunities in the seed industry.

  • You will contribute to the process of bringing innovative products and practices to our customers.
  • Build interpersonal and communication skills while working closely with sales, marketing, and customers.
  • Gain experience in independently managing your time and priorities and make decisions to meet your goals. 
  • Develop project management skills by executing on a strategic business project to support the Corteva commercial team.
  • Safe operation of Corteva vehicle while travelling extensively.
  • Assist with planting corn and soybean demonstration plots.
  • Maintenance and control of weeds by spraying herbicides on crops.
  • Organize, package, and ship field signs across Canada.
  • Perform general shop maintenance and equipment organization to ensure field ready.
  • Support data entry for record keeping and inventory management.
  • Logistics and support for customer events and tradeshows.

What Skills You Need:

Education and Experience: 

  • Applicants should be currently pursuing a degree in agriculture or related field, e.g. Agronomy, Plant Science, Biological Science, Seed Science, Environmental Studies or Business.
  • Preference given to those who have completed their first year of education.

Competencies:

  • Individuals must display a high degree of self-motivation and self-initiative and ability to work in harmony with other team members.
  • Must be able to manage time and priorities effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Very detailed and precise in following instructions.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Computer aptitude is essential.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required. (experience driving pickup truck with trailer an asset).
  • Knowledge and understanding of farm equipment is an asset.
  • Great listening, questioning, and comprehension skills.

Some overnight travel is required.

The salary range for this position is $20.00 to $21.00.

This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
