Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Technical Outside Sales Representative to join our dynamic sales team in Mississauga. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to grow their technical expertise and sales skills. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior sales specialists, technical experts, and customers to develop a deep understanding of our products, services, and solutions. As part of the Industrial Controls portfolio, you will be responsible for; Industrial Controls, sensors, safety, connectivity and associated complementary product and solution offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Sales Development:

  • Build relationships with new and existing customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to grow sales within assigned territories by prospecting, networking, and following up on leads.
  • Assist in preparing and delivering technical presentations to customers, showcasing the value of our products and services.
  • As part of the Industrial components team develop and deliver a yearly business plan with specific goals and sales targets.
  • Evaluate training needs of internal customers with the goal of making them self-sufficient in Industrial Controls Products
  • Be the customer’s champion with suppliers to quickly find solutions for any technical or commercial issues.

2.Technical Expertise:

  • Develop a strong understanding of the company’s product portfolio, including electrical, automation, and energy solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to provide accurate and effective solutions to customer challenges.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings.

3.Customer Support:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, providing technical guidance and support throughout the sales process.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction and long-term relationships.

4.Professional Growth:

  • Participate in training programs, workshops, and mentorship opportunities to enhance technical knowledge and sales skills.
  • Shadow senior sales specialists to learn best practices and gain hands-on experience in complex sales scenarios.
  • Set and achieve performance goals aligned with the progression to a senior-level role.

5.Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, operations, and customer service, to ensure seamless delivery of solutions.
  • Provide feedback to product management and marketing teams to improve offerings and address customer needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Technologist, or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales, customer service, or a technical role (internships or co-op experience considered).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers.
  • Technical aptitude and willingness to learn about complex products and solutions.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and eager to take on challenges.
  • Valid driver’s license, passport and ability to travel within assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the electrical, automation, or energy industries.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is CAD 60000 – 90000. Final compensation within this range will be determined by factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. This range does not include variable pay or other components of Rexel’s total rewards package
