The Talent Acquisition Consultant will be accountable to perform full cycle recruitment while maintaining excellent relationships with hiring managers and candidates. They must exercise a wide degree of creativity and problem solving when it comes to sourcing talent and displaying their understanding of the current recruitment landscape.

The Talent Acquisition Consultant, will help build the pipeline of future talent for Gore Mutual, including owning hiring targets, driving results, and evolving new and innovative Talent Acquisition strategies. As an extraordinary recruiter – they will source, screen, and interview candidates – driving exceptional candidate experience. This unique position impacts both growth and culture at Gore Mutual.

Reporting to the Director, Talent Acquisition you will work closely with our Claims and Underwriting function to provide recruitment advice, consultative support, and decision-making insights, while helping to drive Talent Acquisition strategies and programs.  This role will also support Campus hiring and events.

We expect our Talent Acquisition Consultants to have an impact outside of the core recruiting function. In addition to partnering with the business, this role will work closely with the larger People Experience team to drive forward strategies, projects and programs that align with our vision to grow to become a national insurer, underpinned by best-in-class technology.


What will you do?

Develop recruiting strategies and manage the full-cycle recruitment process to source top talent for high-impact roles across the organization.

  • Partner with leaders to assess talent needs and advise on talent strategies
  • Support our Enterprise Campus Program, including acting as the liaison between the schools and our leadership team. Will need to attend events in Waterloo and Toronto as needed.
  • Coaching leaders on structured interview approaches and proper competency-based candidate calibrations
  • Sourcing candidates via a variety of mediums (AI, social media, networking, events etc.)
  • Pro-active pipeline building

Proactively conduct research and investigate new ideas to find passive candidates through a variety of methods.

  • Contribute your expertise on market conditions, interview best practices, and effective recruiting processes to ensure we always have a strong candidate funnel, and an efficient strategy to find the right talent.
  • Pilot new approaches and tools to enhance sourcing efforts.
  • Influence hiring decisions with real time labour market data

Own, meet and continually improve all candidate sourcing KPIs;

  • Meet SLA’s by managing business stakeholders and senior level leaders across the organization.
  • Manage, prioritize, and close searches against urgent timelines and have experience setting benchmarks, metrics, and understand how to prioritize.

Be a brand advocate for Gore Mutual with an emphasis on our Purpose and Core Values

  • Educate leaders across the organization on how to be a brand ambassador.
  • Partner with Communications to drive the content and strategy for Recruitment Marketing Campaigns.

Program/Project Manage the business through key hiring initiatives that support the strategic business plan.

  • Conduct intake meetings to understand the business need and get consensus on approach and timelines.
  • Establish a cadence of communication to stay on track and avoid creep in spore, budgets, or timelines.
  • De-risk possible roadblocks by bringing the necessary stakeholders together.


Key Skills And Experience

  • 2-5+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience, ideally in a high-growth environment
  • Prior experience supporting Campus hiring would be helpful but not required.
  • Experience coaching hiring managers and helping them develop strategic sourcing plans.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced hyper growth environment.
  • You are goals-driven and hold yourself and others accountable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent professional experience
  • You excel at critical thinking and can find creative solution to unforeseen situations.
  • You have excellent organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail and ability to drive results through others.

Location 

We’re a hybrid team that thrives on the energy and value of in-office collaboration. This role offers the best of both worlds, with 2 days a week spent in our vibrant offices in Cambridge and Toronto, with Cambridge being our primary hub. The expectation is 2 days a week in Cambridge with travel to Toronto and Waterloo as needed for meetings and events.
