Position:  Systems Testing Specialist

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Systems Testing / QA Specialist to support quality assurance activities across complex technology solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, documenting, executing, and reporting on a wide range of testing activities to ensure solutions meet business, functional, performance, security, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate and collaborate with Business Analysts during business requirements and use case walkthroughs.
  
• Develop and document comprehensive test plans covering all required quality assurance testing activities.
  
• Develop and document detailed test cases aligned with approved business requirements and use cases.
  
• Develop and execute testing checklists and ensure completion throughout various testing stages.
  
• Support production readiness activities by incorporating testing checklists into production readiness reviews.
  
• Troubleshoot technical issues identified during testing activities.
  
• Perform end-to-end system functional testing based on documented test cases.
  
• Perform regression testing to ensure existing and new functionality work as expected.
  
• Perform performance testing to validate system integrity and responsiveness.
  
• Collaborate with IT teams to perform vulnerability testing as required.
  
• Document identified defects and perform re-testing following defect resolution.
  
• Collaborate with project management teams on project planning, change management, and release/implementation activities.
  
• Contribute QA artifacts required for architecture checkpoint activities.
  
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production Acceptance Testing (PAT) with business stakeholders.
  
• Conduct manual testing where required to supplement and validate automated testing results.
  
• Compile, summarize, and report findings from both automated and manual testing activities.
  

Qualifications

Testing & Quality Assurance Experience

• 10+ years of experience developing test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  
• Demonstrated experience delivering testing and QA requirements within both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  
• Experience performing a wide variety of testing types including:
  
• Unit Testing
  
• Functional Testing
  
• Integration Testing
  
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  
• Production Acceptance Testing (PAT)
  
• Performance Testing
  
• Regression Testing
  
• Load Testing
  
• Security Testing
  
• Backend Testing
  
• Web Services Testing
  
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and methodologies.
  
• Experience using version control systems and defect management tools such as Confluence, Jira, or TestRail.
  

Technical Skills & Experience

• Experience configuring system and testing environments.
  
• Experience testing both custom-developed solutions and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications.
  
• Experience with multi-tier, multi-platform, integrated, and interconnected solution environments.
  
• Experience testing reporting systems.
  
• Experience testing web, desktop, and mobile applications.
  
• Experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical, and 24x7 environments.
  
• Experience with system debugging, refactoring, and optimization activities.
  

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

• Ability to identify, coordinate, resolve, re-test, and close system defects.
  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Experience preparing reports and technical documentation.
  
• Ability to present testing findings and solution functionality to stakeholders.
  
• Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  
• Strong consulting and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet deadlines.
  

Public Sector Experience

• Understanding of IT standards and guidelines related to test strategies, test scenarios, and test case development.
  
• Understanding of security and privacy considerations when validating technology solutions against business requirements.
